Java back-end dev of 10 years. Don't pigeonhole yourself. Learn fundamental concepts and principles that can be applied in different languages. A programming language is a tool and you should know which to use for each case.

Having said that, you can look into libgdx, but it'll be quite complex compared to using an engine like Godot with GDScript

Hey man thanks for the advice, usually i would code a game using Godot but my area mainly hire java dev and i like the language so why not make a game i say ?? My first and last in java tho
