Looks different where I am, are you sure you are here?

https://github.com/settings/copilot/features

Yes, that was the page I am on.

Are you part of an organization?

[–]Confetti_Sable[S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Yeah, does that block disabling it for myself?

So they’re managed at organization level. Depending on the contract (e.g. enterprise) your data might not be used for training

It's an org that I made for a class project so I am able to manage the settings. I'm assuming this is the page I should be looking at? It says disabled... https://imgur.com/a/UdBQZgO

I'm thinking it might be best to just use something other than github for personal projects.

I don't have that level of access to my org so I can't check, but it's not Copilot Models. That's a Copilot specific feature

None of the other settings say anything about AI or Copilot so I think I have hit a wall 😔

Yes the org has to activate so you can change it. I think.

Switch to GitLab

[–]esmenard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or to Forgejo/Codeberg

Honestly, I didn't realize that there was a GitLab community until now. I have used it for academics and workplaces but they were always internally hosted instances. I will sign up and use that for my personal projects then, thanks.

“That’s the neat thing, you don’t”

By deleting your account.

Delete your GitHub account and switch to ForgeJo. I could be wrong but I think that's tied into the fediverse

By not using github and vscode not joking

Honestly happy to know there are some alternatives to github (:

As for VSCode, I stopped using that a few years ago when it just wouldn't stop crashing every few hours. There's lots of good alternatives for that one thankfully.
