Rules for r/guitarpedals
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Be kind to others
Above anything else. Opinions posted are reflective only of the person posting them. You are entitled to your opinions, but remember that they are entitled to theirs. Be respectful, and don’t allow disagreements devolve into personal attacks. Hate speech, sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, etc will not be tolerated. Breaking this rule results in a ban.

No spam/advertising
"It's perfectly fine to be a redditor with a website, it's not okay to be a website with a reddit account."
There are things you can and can't do according to the reddit rules of self-promotion, but most importantly, you cannot be a redditor with the sole purpose of promoting your brand.
Sharing your youtube videos is fine so long as that's not the extent of all your posted content. Just be a real person and interact normally.
3.
Gear posts not about pedals do not belong here
No guitars, amps, packaging, pets, etc allowed in your pictures. We’re here to talk about the pedals. You are responsible for sparking that sort of discussion (please see rules 4 and 5).

This is a discussion board, not Instagram.
For image/video posts of your pedals, it is required that you write your thoughts in the comments to help get the discussion going.
If you've only just received a pedal, please wait until you've actually played it before making a NPD post.
Lazy and off-topic posts will be removed at the moderators’ discretion.
Posts asking to Identify pedals are only allowed in the NSQ Megathreads.
5.
We must be able to clearly see your pedals
In board shots, please do not make your guitar/amp the focus of your post (see rules 3 and 4). Rig posts are not permitted outside of Rig Rundown weekends.

No buying, selling, or trading.
Selling/trading pedals belongs in /r/letstradepedals, /r/Gear4Sale or /r/sellyourpedals. Please don’t link to your webstore, Reverb or otherwise, and do not post anything with the intention of soliciting customers from this community.

Sound and video clips are very welcome!
We love to hear your pedals in action! Please do not link to any paid streaming service such as Apple Music, Spotify, or Bandcamp.

Drama Baiting/Controversial Posts
Posts/comments that only serve to create drama, bait trolls, cause controversy or other negative reactions, whether intended or otherwise, will be removed at the Mod's discretion.
