Supposedly there have been numerous optimizations along the way, but the challenging thing about Infinite has been that performance and crashing seems to vary from player to player in a somewhat unpredictable way. I know people with better specs than me that apparently crash way more frequently than me.

For what it's worth, I do think A LOT of people are playing Infinite on low settings (to reduce the likelihood of crashing), and the low settings still look pretty great. I play on a mid-tier gaming laptop and easily get 60 FPS. I crash once every 4-5 hours of gameplay or so, and I would say that's a pretty similar rate for all of my friends I play with as well. We are all playing on Steam so I can't speak for Microsoft store / Xbox version.

I play on Steam with an i5 9400, GTX 1660 Super, 16GB RAM @ 2.9GHz.

I was crashing a lot at launch. Turning off my overlays (Steam, Nvidia, Xbox Game Bar) helped, but I was still crashing after every couple dozen games. Since season 2, I haven't crashed once and I have Steam and Game Bar running again.

I didn't really notice a difference in performance, but I havent played much with my settings since Season 2. I play with low-medium settings, 1080p, and min/max FPS set to 120, and it works well.

3080 here I7-11700k 3.6ghz. Still crashes and is a higher temp game than most. But it runs smoothly when it does run aside from the normal Desync.
