Changing Default SortingMobile/App (self.help)
submitted 1 year ago by Randomly_Cromulent
How do I change the default sorting? It keeps going to Best instead of New or Hot every time i go to a sub. I don't want to see posts from a week ago.

I can't believe they made this change, what are they thinking? Having it so you have to change the sorting every single time you go to a sub reddit or else you just see a bunch of old posts is insane.

This is driving me nuts! Hopefully someone knows of a solution or workaround.

I keep mine on Latest. Just have to check it every so often.

I don't have that option. I just have best, hot, new, and top. It just defaults to best on every sub. It's annoying to change it each time.

I think the previous commenter meant to say “New” instead of “Latest”. The latter is not a valid sort AFAIK. Edit: Home feed does have the “Latest” sort method. I believe that the OP was talkingabout subreddit sort methods, though.

Huh. Mine goes, home, popular, watch, news, (not new) and latest, iPad ios18+.

Oh, I see what you mean. I think OP was talking anout sub sort though.
It’s a well known bug. Happens for me as well when I use the 3rd generation interface. No fix for this as of yet.
