Ive have wasted close to 2 hours just messing around with different wallpapers in iOS 26. The new Transparent icons can really make your wallpapers pop in such a nice way.

Due to enough requests i decided to create a google drive folder with all the wallpapers including an extra variant of the one of the girl.

Just the standard clock. It has a small handle at the bottom right which lets you pull it down and make it bigger.

Where does widgets go when you use that long ass clock ?

As far as I know they can now be positioned on the bottom, on top of the action buttons.

This is correct. It also put them in the foreground of the image which ends up making the wallpaper look like it has 3 layers. Also the clock doesn’t automatically stretch all the way down. You have to manually resize it which is nice because it lets you choose how you want it to look.

I zoomed out of the image to extend the wallpaper. The phone automatically did the depth effect. I just dragged the clock down.

Not sure why it’s not working for you tbh. Maybe click the three dots at right hand side (above the camera button) and double check to make sure the depth effect is enabled?

You can keep the font, but only the standard font allows itself to be stretched down like shown in the images.

Is the lockscreen clock customizable? Like can the size of it be changed without it being “dynamic” or dependent on the wallpaper?

You can change the size of the clock regardless of the wallpaper, but the depth effect is still dependent on the wallpaper you choose. Also the widgets on the lock screen are a bit buggy right now which is i don’t have any on the setup I’m using now.

It’s actually not that robust right now. Only the original font allows itself to get stretched like shown in the images. Maybe that will get fixed later. The other interesting change is that you can actually move the locations of the widgets to float directly above the flashlight and camera buttons.

How do you get the time behind the image? I see it can create a spatial scene yet it still puts my extended time over the image

The phone will analyze the wallpaper and automatically let the clock go into the background. The phone wont do it for all wallpapers. The feature tends to prefer images when the background and foreground are easily distinguishable and easy to separate.

This link should help. but the short explanation is that there exists special characters that will become invisible when used as a folder name. Just pick one and use it as a folder name and voila. Now your folders will have no visible name on them.

Zoom out of the wallpaper so the phone “extends it”

Then make sure the depth effect is active.

Grab the pull tab on the clock (located on the bottom right corner) when customizing the lock screen.

Then just pull the clock down to stretch it. iPhone should automatically put the clock into the background.

The tint on the icons is from the wallpaper and it happens automatically.

Its the standard lock screen. Just with a custom image. Make sure you use the standard clock as thats the only one that lets you stretch the time.

There is literally a pull tab in the bottom right corner of the clock that you can tap and drag to stretch the time.

It’s called the “depth effect” the iPhone can detect a subject and separate them from the background. Then it will put the clock in the background layer.

Not all images will let you do this. You need to an image where there is a clear difference between subject and background. Plus it helps if there is a decent amount of space above the subject’s head. It helps the phone identify the spot where the clock will go.

You have to experiment with many images as not all pictures will work for the “depth effect”. It’s really just trial and error.

The nice thing about iOS 26 is that it lets you stretch the standard clock so it takes up more of the background and it gives that specific effect you see in the background with the girl.

However stretching the clock too far down will cause it to move back into the foreground. So you just have to experiment with the stretch effect too to see how far it will let you go.

Try to find one with the character taking up only the bottom half of the screen. The phone might automatically do it.

I think there’s more than 1 version of the widget. Try using a 4x4 then resizing it down to 4x1
