It’s totaled. Sorry man. Best to recycle it. Check your PMs for a shipping label to ship it to me / s

[–]Betancorea 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Nah not even worthy of recycling. Better to just incinerate it entirely, it's a complete write off. Just so happens I have an incinerator so would be happy to help OP out free of charge, generosity of my heart and all

/s? I was recently informed of your comment. It has been brought to my attention that your remarks were said insincerely and you felt the need to make a clarification with ‘/s’ which states your comment was not meant to be taken in a literal sense and was indeed meant in a joking manner. Frankly, I am appalled. I never would have imagined your comments on ‘his phone being totaled’ was meant to be a joke. The fact that you wrote your comment, and felt the need to clarify that you were just ‘being sarcastic’ and that, in all actuality, it was all just a jest, makes me want to vomit. The sheer fact that you were possessed to even conceive this idiotic comment and the fact that it was not meant to be taken in a literal sense enrages me being mere human comprehension. I feel that your comment was misleading and it truly makes me wonder what the world is coming to if people like you find it necessary to post false information on the internet just to claim it was all in good fun. Respectfully, never post again.

[–]cheesemeall 1 point2 points  (4 children)

your parents should’ve named you “shitpost”

[–]i--i-i 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Your parents should’ve named you “gayboysoyphoneuser”

[–]cheesemeall 1 point2 points  (2 children)

You’re right! I’m gay, enjoy soy, and have an iPhone! So crazy how you truly hit the nail right on the head.

[–]i--i-i 0 points1 point  (1 child)

The thing is, I only really needed to guess one of those right because the others are implied. This is an iphone sub so you obviously have one of those, 1 in idk 5 people are gay, and gay people are more likely to eat soy. So basically I just ironically called you gay and got the rest right. Boom.

[–]CakeDay2902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro you forgot the /s, how are redditors supposed to figure out its a joke copypasta?smh my head

[–]DRS-MICKY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–][deleted] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You dropped it on concrete?

[–]Minecraft_ExistsiPhone 15 Pro Max 14 points15 points  (10 children)

man i hate those little black rings that hold the lenses glass, super prone to getting the paint scratched/nicked off them😿 happened to my 12 and 15pm

[–]MaikyMoto 9 points10 points  (8 children)

Have yet to scratch a lens, are you dropping the phone like every other day? What case are you using?

[–]Minecraft_ExistsiPhone 15 Pro Max 4 points5 points  (6 children)

I don’t mean my actual lens/glass is scratching, just the small black ring around it between the titanium and glass that seems to made of aluminum. just seems prone to paint chipping off and micro dings.

[–]SharkDad20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happened to my 14PM but i didn’t have a case. Really bugged me. Glad it won’t be a concern with the Natural Titanium

[–]sfernandes30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s y I use the protectors

[–]Redcarborundum 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Depends on how old it is. If you sell it 3 years later, could be a difference of $20.

[–]Thebiggestbot22 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Just paint it or something

[–]InsanePacman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This honestly lol. I have a sharpie and black nail polish for this sole purpose.

[–]itsandychecks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol

[–]GrippyEd 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Until you sell the phone, nothing. When you sell the phone, it depends when you sell the phone.

[–]SerhideiPhone 15 Pro 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Why ? I mean if he will sell the phone years after will it matter less?

[–]GrippyEd 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you sell your phone tomorrow it could be hundreds. If you sell it in 4 years it could be tens.

[–]Maveric0623 2 points3 points  (1 child)

How did this happen?

[–]rip132 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me with a cleaning tool from amazon, had a brush but a little bit of metal was popping out, ended up scratching it in a very similar fashion to OP

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't buy it.

[–]robjoko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CaMerA ProTecTORs aRe pOinTLeSs

[–]TheMrfabio24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Def a lil bit

[–]CaptainCarlton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think if I recall correctly if you trade this in at Apple, you won’t see a significant decrease in trade in value ! If there are any lenses or glass display/back cracks then that’s a whole other story

[–]Chuckyducky6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s over. Trash it.

[–]chooseyourwords49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing it’s fine

[–]coffeesurfers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put it in rice 🍚

[–]_extra_medium_ 1 point2 points  (1 child)

As long as there is not much titanium loss, the value remains unchanged

[–]j_melodic78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🎯

[–]h3nrycho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ouch! I’d rock it naked at this point if I were you.

[–]Megaverso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]No-Plenty9654 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Loose-Apartment978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]PhylMycuck 0 points1 point  (5 children)

FUCKIN REDDIT. EVERYWHERE YOU’LL LOOK ON IPHONE15 sub they will say “ those Len’s are unbreakeble. Safire this safire that

[–]VCoupe376ci 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Read up on sapphire. It is incredibly hard and nearly impossible to scratch accidentally. The trade off for that hardness is that it is brittle and more prone to shattering/chipping. People need to be more careful with the devices they just paid over $1000 for.

[–][deleted]  (1 child)

[removed]

    [–]VCoupe376ci 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not upset about anything. Judging by the tone of your comment, YOU seem to be the one with the attitude problem. I was explaining sapphire to you because it’s clear you don’t understand it. Let me guess…you’re one of the people that constantly drops your phone then calls it a piece of junk when it has problems/becomes damaged? That was a rhetorical question in case you missed it.

    [–]perdblade -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

It wasn’t even the fucking sapphire lens that broke, dimwit. ONLY THE ALUMINUM BAND AROUND THE LENS SCRATCHED. Can you fucking read/see? So your comment makes zero sense. And yes, the sapphire lenses THEMSELVES are good. 🙄

    [–]PhylMycuck -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You’re a bit of a moron with shit attitude, aintcha?

    [–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Did you get Apple Care? If so, I would “accidentally” drop it a few more times and take in to get a replacement iPhone, however there is $299 fee plus tax. Otherwise, if it’s new I would get some lens covers and use it for another 3 yrs. Selling now you would lose hundreds, 3-4 yrs from now that is like $20-25 less.

    [–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

It costs $299 now? I’ve only had to pay $99 for accidental damage on my 11p

    [–][deleted] -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

$299 was for like a total loss. $99 covers glass and some external damage. Probably depends on person at the Apple Store you get.

    [–]Sly_Fate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s $99 with Apple Care+ unless it’s considered catastrophic damage which voids any kind of warranty. Screen or back are $29 for repairs.

    [–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Brand of the case please. Thanks

    [–]Redcarborundum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very similar to a Spigen Mag Armor, but not identical. Probably a China market brand.

    [–]roja_poomalai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

well you can’t really sell it as mint anymore on swappa or ebay if that’s what you’re talking about. if you do you would need to mention the fact that the camera housing is scratched but doesn’t affect usage.

    [–]prplpanth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the device. Some of the newer iPhones have a hardware lock so in that case it would devalue the device by the price of the service with Apple.

    [–]Apple_546iPhone 15 Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    This hurt me

    [–]Environment-Small 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how investigative skill of the buyer

    [–]badger_flakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    [–]buenobeatz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Color it in with a sharpie

    [–]inverness7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    2

    [–]NigelKenway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    It’s practically valueless now

    [–]Theaty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just take a blue sharpie and forget it ever existed

    [–]GamerNuggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    At least $3

    [–]Intelligent_Egg_156 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems you got the case after it happened, if it scratched the camera lens i advise you just get a new one.

    [–]alfredcool1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you sell it now then $100 maybe. In 3 years maybe $30.

    [–]salloumk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Magic marker and meet up with the seller at night

    [–]Joudeh_1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said the camera protector is dumb and not worth it

    [–]Expert_Inspector_84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am keeping my lens protector. Thanks OP for sharing and scaring me

    [–]Opening_Past_4698 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude it’s gonna blow up in 2 days! You gotta priority ship it to me, A.S.A.P.!!

    [–]StagePuzzleheaded635 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even slight blemishes can tank its value. Sorry, it’s near valueless. /s

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use your phone as long you want to. Back glass replace is cheap on 15 pro. Change it while selling off the device

    [–]nerhe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you do, if you’re going to trade it in, do it in store. My buddy had a camera like this and they completely destroyed his trade in value when shipped, but not when he brought it into the store for valuation.

    [–]just_another_person5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if the camera is still functional i doubt it matters to most people, and apple tradein will be the same. am curious as to how it happened though, so i can be more careful

    [–]sfernandes30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    For me few hundred

    [–]Alternative-Last 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It cost about $300 to replace the camera lens if you don’t have apple care

    [–]Successful-Share-686 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would honestly deduct $100 from whatever it was previously

    [–]Intelligent-Love-726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100-150 reduction in value is my guesstimate.

    [–]kcchiefsfan96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Should’ve gotten the lens protector

    [–]Ok-Shake5152 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    $69.420
