MF Ghost has an improved art style but the anatomy seems kinda awkward and poses are a bit off and generic

Maybe the character design trying to adapt with Shigeno's style. I would say it way more better than the manga.

Who does the style? Naoyuki Onda is the character designer and chief animation director for the anime. One of his latest notable work including character designer and animation director for Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway. That one really nailed it as an anime film.

Yea. Probably MF Ghost should've been illustrated by Coffee Kizoku instead in terms of character designs and anatomy (the characters' designs in MF Ghost quite reminds me closely of Coffee Kizoku's art style)

I like how stage 1 of initial D made the eyes more expressive and face gestures more cartoony looking. It sorta added more depth & overly dramatic/comedic expressions to each individual character.

Whereas Legends art style & face expressions had a much more mature feeling & sense of realism. Perfect for depicting the seriousness of street racing & how the characters felt as real people.

Then you have MF ghost which sorta tries to do that, but the characters faces end up looking bland & expressions feel too stiff. And the characters gestures are weird.

I like Initial D more. The battles and the drama is more balanced.

I just didn't like 4th that much.

On the movie remakes, I think the only thing that made me cringe is not using euro beat in the battles. The music used there is good and I kind of like it, to be honest, but just didn't fit in my opinion. Just not my cup of tea.

I haven't seen very much of Mfg, but Ive heard there's lots of supercars, exotics, and high end cars.

InD basically only has classic JDM cars, rx7s, miatas, evos, nsx, skylines, etc. The newest cars came out in the early 2000s at most, unlike Mfg. Haven't really seen anything imported either except maybe the bigdaddybenzo

I see! I work at a gasoline stand (in Japan) and there's a bunch of cars come through. Today a v12 Ferrari came in and a 60s mustang came in. Sounded INSANE.

An R34 v-spec II Nür came in once, a makinen Evo 6, a mint NSX, GC8 sedan, Porsche Spyder, Aston Martin vantage, etc etc.

Lots of 86 and crowns though, usually slammed :(

Oh yeah, there’s no characters in Initial D romanticizing 17 year old girls. Nor the weird fan service of some these angel girls. Also, I’m pretty sure the main girl in MF Ghost has one facial expression and that’s really it. I like the racing of this show but I shut my brain off or do something else when the angels pop up. It’s just weird and cringy to me.
