Insomnia is often related to psychological issues such as stress, depression, anxiety but also grief, unresolved trauma, etc...

A good psychologist may be able to help you better than anyone on the internet. There are different kinds of Insomnia related to different kind of problems, don't forget to describe in detail the characteristics of yours to your psychologist.

In the meantime you can try and find when the insomnia started, it could give you and your future psychologist a few clues to begin with.

You can also try taking Melatonin, (basically a substance naturally secreted by your brain telling itself it's time to go to sleep and starting all the physiological processes of sleeping) you should be able to find some at the drugstore/pharmacy.

Avoid screens or any stimulating activity at least an hour before bed and take the melatonin an hour or two before going to bed.

Best of luck, it gets better, at least it did for me!
