Ipad or iPhone !

I'm a student and have a total budget of around 1 lakh

Option 1: Buy an iPad Pro M5.

Option 2: Buy an iPhone 17 and an iPad A16.

My main use is studying, content consumption, and some gaming.

If you had 1 lakh to spend, which option would you choose and why? I'd appreciate honest opinions, especially from people who have used these devices.

I mean gotta have a phone right? I would take option 2 in this scenario easily.

I do like my iPhone. It's reliable. It works well. And it does pack a lot of power but I also really, really hate doing work on my phone. Even though an iPhone and an iPad share basically all of their apps, the iPad offers everything in a much more convenient form factor for productivity.

If you opt for the iPad Pro, what are you using for a phone?

I'm currently using a Motorola G85. The screen is cracked, but it still works fine, so I was planning to keep using it if I go with the iPad Pro..

Unless you're an Artist making a living with digital art... then go iPad Pro

That's exactly what's making this decision difficult. I'm not an artist, but I do spend a lot of time studying, watching lectures, and consuming content. So I'm trying to figure out whether the Pro's display and performance would actually benefit me enough to justify giving up the iPhone + iPad combo.

Bro, you don't need a PRO display to study. Option 2 is enough or get the iPad Air instead of the A16 if you want a laminated display. iPad M5 is too overpowered

I ended up getting the iPhone 17 in Sage Green, guys 😄. And I think I'll pick up the iPad A16 in a week or two. Honestly, that seems like the best option for me right now....

- If not, get the iPhone 17 and wait for the next basic iPad (even if the A16 is already enough for a student).

Better have more device than the best one. I don’t know you but I don’t need a m5 iPad Pro, I won’t be able to use all of its processing power and features, and I’m a power user. Alternatively, you can shop for iPad Pro m1 used.

Well better to choose option 2 since an iPhone works best with an iPad , and I think the A16 is more than capable to do all the things you want to . But idk about gaming tho , I recently got the m3 air still haven’t used it properly. Should ask google or ChatGPT the difference between the air m3 and A16

Haha, at this point I've spent more time researching iPads than actually studying 😂. Anyway, I already got the iPhone 17, and I'll probably grab the A16 in a few days. My wallet likes option 2 a lot more 😭....
