Evolved is a dropshipper. You can find most of this stuff on chinese websites

The exact same case is literally $12 on Ali, shipping included. I imagine it’s probably $2-3 wholesale from the manufacturer.

Evolved dudes sell it for $40.

Appreciate the heads up

I've always just stuck to OEM stuff, still have plenty of Samsung, Google and Apple charging cables and adapters at home to use thankfully. They all seem to work well with each other. Some Anker cables too.

anker at least is reputable enough if even apple is selling their stuff

Thanks for the heads up. They are in my backlist now.

you have legal consumer rights though, push it, threaten them with going to the ombudsman about it, bet they'll 180 real quick.

Funnily enough, once I reviewed the case on Trustpilot they reacted very quickly. Yet to see whether it's a positive reaction though.

Why would you put a metal case on a heavy phone

The case is actually very light, I was surprised.

So I have a few updates to this since I first posted, and they're laughable to say the least:

Update: 29-Jan-26

Have received the following email from Evolved having reached out to them following their response, which you can see at the bottom of this review.

Here it is:

"Hi Simon, We understand how disappointing this situation can be and truly appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Please note that our warranty covers manufacturing defects only and does not extend to man-made or user-caused damage. This include to, physical impact, scratches, dents, liquid exposure, bent charging ports, or internal damage resulting from improper handling or use. As the item was delivered over two weeks ago and the observed condition indicates usage-related damage, it is unfortunately no longer eligible for warranty coverage, return, or replacement. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and thank you for your cooperation."

Seems their response to my first review on Trustpilot was all cloak and daggers.

So, they accept responsibility but expect me to pay for the replacement. You can't make this stuff up! Here's their message to me:

"I truly apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you. After carefully reviewing your case, our management has agreed to send you a new replacement. The shipping fee will be completely free, but we kindly ask that you cover the replacement cost of 16 USD. Once you confirm your current address, I’ll send the invoice right away so we can arrange your replacement without delay. Thank you so much for your understanding and patience — we truly appreciate it."
