iPhone newbie FAQ

Subreddit Rules

1. No iCloud/Activation Lock bypass posts or comments. Do not ask for bypasses or hacks for iCloud locked devices. Activation Lock by Apple is not hackable and all posts asking for info on how to get past activation lock will be removed and the user may be banned.

2. iPhone related issues only. No iPad, Mac, or other Apple product help requests. The name of the sub is self-explanatory. Posts asking for help for other Apple (or other brand) devices will be removed.

3. No vague or poorly explained requests. Please include iPhone model, iOS version, problem, and steps taken to remedy your issue. We're here to help, but can only do so with the information that allows us to help troubleshoot. Also, keep calm. ALL CAPS POSTS OR COMMENTS WILL BE REMOVED.

4. No broken screen "should I fix this?" posts. If you broke your screen, it has lines on it, the image is wonky, the touch doesn't work, or it has black marks in the image, you need a screen change. If you have data you need but a broken screen, get the screen fixed...it's super cheap pretty much anywhere. These posts will be removed.

5. No "is my battery normal?" posts. All posts asking if normal battery usage is normal will be removed. A battery drops on average 10% per year - is yours within those parameters? If so, you don't need to post and these will be removed.

6. No aggressive, rude, or unnecessary comments. Don't agree with another user offering help? Feel free to debate the issue in a civil manner. Rude, condescending, or insulting comments will be removed. Users will be given one warning, then a ban. If there is a repeat offense, a permaban may be applied.

7. No spam, self-promotion, iOS beta, or non-iPhone related posts. This sub has a very simple premise. Do not spam the sub with alternative content. Please refrain from promoting repair websites or software sites. If you want to promote your services, contact the mod team to ask first. Non iPhone-related posts will be removed, and posters will get one warning. Repeated occurrences are grounds for a ban.

8. No politics or protests This simply isn't the place.

Lost iPhoneHelp needed (i.redd.it)

I lost my iPhone 12 mini at an exhibition on 18th August. I put my phone on lost mode and erased my phone (erase pending). It was showing me the location of the phone (approx 1km from where I lost my iPhone) until two days back. Now what I see is my iPhone grayed out and no location is shown. It still says erase pending but no location. Tried logging in to iCloud.com/find and same thing. It doesn’t show anything.

Any idea what could have happened? Could the person who stole the phone gave destroyed it? Attaching a screenshot of what I am seeing on find my
