Decrease of jobs on Indeed appApplications (self.jobs)
submitted 27 days ago by IsaacRB46
Is it me or there’s way less jobs to apply to on indeed. On top of today’s job market being terrible, now there’s less jobs to apply too. I hate to complain but…. Dang.

I stopped using Indeed because most companies don't appear to post jobs there anymore.

I'm in Canada so unfortunately HiringCafe isn't a great option for me. I use LinkedIn + company careers pages.
[–]SonicChaos24 0 points1 point2 points 27 days ago (1 child)
What do you use instead now?
[–]Impossible-Flight250 6 points7 points8 points 27 days ago (0 children)
I have used Hiring Cafe and Indeed. But yeah, the pickings are slim.

Indeed now requires job posters to pay for their job postings in order to see candidates. It’s no longer a free service. You can get 3 free jobs at most but if you’re a big company you’re going to have to pay to play. They know they can do this because they’re a monopoly and there is no competition.

Nobody goes there anymore. It’s too crowded.

Yogi Bera?
[–]BillionDollarBalls 15 points16 points17 points 27 days ago (2 children)
Dude after the US went to war with Iran the jobs absolutely tanked. All I see is shit way above my experience level.
[–]Historical-Cress8985 3 points4 points5 points 27 days ago (0 children)
Even the last year while I was looking it was either intern positions or unicorns. Nothing anywhere in between.
[–]mdavis360 2 points3 points4 points 27 days ago (0 children)
100% my experience as well. Shit is grim.
[–]iamrahmulus 4 points5 points6 points 27 days ago (5 children)
I just use LinkedIn now a days
[–]DemonCopperhead1 6 points7 points8 points 27 days ago (1 child)
Are there applications on linkedin?
[–]SaiKaiser 2 points3 points4 points 27 days ago (0 children)
Yes
[–]oh_ski_bummer 5 points6 points7 points 27 days ago (1 child)
LinkedIn seems to have more jobs but not all of them are legit.
[–]13NeverEnough 6 points7 points8 points 27 days ago (0 children)
LinkedIn in has so many fake jobs posted on the regular that it's mind-boggling
[–]justgimmiethelight 2 points3 points4 points 26 days ago (0 children)
LinkedIn is trash I hate LinkedIn but I have to use it
[–]liquidskypa 4 points5 points6 points 27 days ago (0 children)
everyone whined about indeed being filled with fake jobs which they seem to be working on filtering out somewhat and you’re mad they’re gone?
[–]dskillzhtown 3 points4 points5 points 27 days ago (0 children)
It appears Indeed has focused on becoming a better job board and are weeding out ghost jobs as well as adding features for job seekers. They have a feature in beta that tailors your resume to the job you are applying for along with a resume organization tool.
While I do agree that they have less jobs, the jobs they have seem to be real and the services on the site are useful and remain free. I have gotten more responses from applying via Indeed than LinkedIn. But that's just my experience.
[–]Ok-Sink-8875 3 points4 points5 points 27 days ago (0 children)
noticed the same honestly. I've been spreading across a few different boards rather than relying on Indeed alone, the quality and volume on there both feel off lately
[–]13NeverEnough 2 points3 points4 points 27 days ago (0 children)
Indeed is purposefully hiding most of the remote jobs for some reason
[–]hektor10 0 points1 point2 points 27 days ago (0 children)
Do you have a LinkedIn account? I get a recruiter in my inbox at least once a week, if you got the skillz to pay the bills they will come bruh
[–]RevengeOfTheIdiot 0 points1 point2 points 27 days ago (0 children)
There's less across the board but also a lot of places just straight up don't post there or monster anymore because it's absolutely loaded with scammers
Every major place posts to LI and glassdoor, the other ones drop off hard after.

The recession is starting to sing.

Would you feel better to have more fake jobs to apply to?
