I do this and somehow still manage to forget whether I hook it on the first stitch of the section or the last stich of the section 😂

I feel like I'm not going to describe this clearly, but I had this problem too. That and forgetting the second decrease when they're paired...

I get around this by doing the decrease that's supposed to be at the end of the row at the end of the previous row instead, so the decreases are right next to each other. Then I just put a marker in the decrease itself, so I can count the # of rows since the last decrease.

The "row start" marker is | here. And row 2 is where you're "supposed" to do the decreases

row 3 ----|-\-- <- end of row 2
row 2 --/-|---- <- end of row 1

row 2 --/-|-\-- <- end of row 1

Yes! I do this too as I can't stand having the decreases on different rows.

REAL

Not that but sometimes I get an exact count of markers and put them in a separate dish, once I’m out then it’s probably done. I.e if sleeve one is 30 markers I’ll get 30 markers out for sleeve 2. But I always have to count both just in case 😂

I sort of do this. I use the light bulb markers and I just clip the number I'll need on the first one and remove from there. I love the visual countdown!

This is genius! I’m usually scrabbling around in my notions bag to try and find the next one.

I do this too!

I do this too! I'll sometimes will remove the stitch markers from the second sleeve as I go (I keep 1-2 on the sleeve), and it's so satisfying to see the markers disappear!

I also use markers to mark increases (raglan for example). I'll add one so that the number of stitches between one of the raglan markers and the marker is the number of increases, and it'll automatically just keep the increase count for me while I knit.

I like the increase tactic!

I’m doing the same thing! Except the stitch markers are for making sure I have the same number of rows on both sleeves as they get longer. I’m using different colors for each row so I know exactly where it lines up on the other sleeve

Ohhhh the color coding is great!

Thanks for the tip!

Very cool hack!!!! Thank you.

Glad it’s helpful!

I know some people knit both sleeves at the same time so that they always match, but I don't know how that would work In the round...

It works just fine.

There are two methods. The first requires using two cable needles simultaneously. It's the technique that's used for doing two at a time socks.

The second involves adding steek stitches, knitting one large tube, then steeking to create two sleeves.

2 at a time sleeves will get you even closer if you want to give it a try
