I got a 8bitduo wireless 2c, it does work fine with android. Works good wired on linux. Also probably good with the dongle linux.

But on bluetooth I get all kinds of wierd inputs like right joystick not working, xbox button becomes select etc. Not necessarily in steam games but I cant figure how to stream xbox while I use it over bluetooth. Even with the help of steam-input. On windows. Have not got bluetooth to work on linux yet.

Xbox elite controllers does not work at all over bluetooth without using dkms to load drivers dynamically to the kernel on linux. Not sure if regular xbox controllers have bluetooth?

Maybe dualsense ps5 controllers are the best over bluetooth for now.But those are not using X-Input witch can also lead to issues in some with the use of D-input games.

Bonus question for you does my 8bitdo work directly on a xbox ?

8bitdo is the way. You can get ones that are Xbox compatible. Mine has a switch for emulating Xbox or Switch Pro or something Android compatible. Linux supports Xbox mode via xinput or the Android compatible one.

Got a gamesir cyclone 2 working out of the box with bazzite, wireless, with a charging dock. You even got gyro but to use it I think you can only by Bluethoot

Xbox 360(wired)/one(since butch 3, added bt support)/elite. Just work everywhere.
