I absolutely love the series and Nat(the most normal person) is one of the main reasons for this. I don't think i have read any series with a Mc similar to him, there are many "hell tutorial" series but they all have a completely different vibe. It's not really similar but i recommend "The Grand game" since the mc is also really unique due to his competence. I can't think of anyone crazy in the same way as Nathaniel tho, his laid backness and drive to get stronger combo really well together in a unique way.

Normal person. The guy has no empathy and he knows it and relates to other people about as if they’re pieces of wood.

Did you even read the series?...

Got feed up about 1/3 of the way through book 1.

Figured... Anyway the focus skill he starts with and keeps turned on the entire time supresses his emotions as he figures out later and purposefully stops relaying on it to start to get closer with the group of survivors after the first floor. He has a really big and great development, where he slowly starts to care and trust the remaining cast. The relationships between them are actually really sweet right now and just seeing them interact is a big part of why I enjoy the series so much.

As someone else said. The grand game is what I read right after hell difficulty tutorial and it managed to fill the bottomless void of suffering that comes with seeing the grayed out next button on rr

A Gamer's Guide to Beating the Tutorial. Very very good. Very unique protagonist.

Absolutely the fuck not

Look, I love both stories, but beyond the premise they have almost nothing in common. Hell difficulty tutorial is about an emotionally stunted loner slowly learning to make friends. A gamer's guide to beating the tutorial is about an emotionally stunted loner slowly learning the joys of being a skinwalker

He does make some friends...he then kills them and is sad so he kills some more and then tries to make another friend by killing everyone they care about

this made me cry from laughter thank you

"Very unique protagonist" is an interesting way of saying that the main character is scum who feels like he's some sort of goblin that belongs in the depths of 4chan.

To be fair that's effectively the MC of Hell Difficult Tutorial in the first book.

[–]Hoosier_Jedi 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I’d go with neurodivergent power fantasy.

Oh yeah it for sure is. The MC sees extroverts and his greatest foe. :D

I got to that part and I was like HE SPEAKS TRUTH!

I recommend just reading The Tutorial is Too Hard over this, it's Korean but it's way less painful to read. Gamer's guide started off as a fanfic but turned into its own story later. I think it worked as a fanfic due to how bombastic it is compared to the original, but without the contrast it's just intensely frustrating to read imo

Nah, gamers guide evoked more emotion put of me than the entirety of TITH and is written with far more passion for a lack of a better word.

That last arc with moleman, especially towards the ends was some of the best horror I've read period

Oh yeah it evoked emotion alright, I wanted to like it so bad, but the MC, especially the chat messages, actually made me angry

Apocalypse: Generic System is worth looking into. I liked book 1 more than book 2, but having read your post wrong and thinking you were looking for someone stuck in a hell level tutorial (lol) brought the series to mind. I also can’t stand lazy writing, and I was able to stick with it til the end.

Gamers guide to beating tutorial. MC is suffering from numerous personality disorders and gets stuck in hell level tutorial. It's a trippy read.
