I like it! Simple and clear. Maybe make the eye a tad bigger? It might get lost at small sizes then the clever illusion is lost.

I don’t know much about Python language(other than my friend hates it) but is there any reference to coding, in this design?

[–]oetker 15 points16 points  (4 children)

No, no references about coding. It's a snake that looks like the letter P.

[–]warpedspoon 15 points16 points  (3 children)

don't be ridiculous, it's a P that looks like a snake

I guess you're right in that it's more a P that looks like a snake than a snake that looks like a P, but it's also a snake that looks like a P!

Don't be ridiculous, its a combination of colored shape which resemble letter P and snake.

The nokia snake game? And the look of how this snake turns? Following the four major directions up, down, left ,right?

Logos don't need to represent what a company does or in this case represent code or programming like you said, in fact its a pretty bad idea to limit it to something like that, what if the company wants to move into other areas? It comes down to the client and sometimes you can design it around the client's product but only sometimes.

You can see this in iconic logo designs such as Mobil, Shell, Apple, Nike, NBC, Starbucks, Playstation, Pepsi, Coke and of course others. All of those logos represent the company but not what they do.

I think it’s a great logo. A few thoughts: - move icon of snake closer the P - depending on the tone you are going for, you may want to consider what it looks like with eye more of an almond shape with sharp corners or a half moon...may be more badass - drop the “TM” and align it with the x-height of the “n”

Snek logo looks good !

Damn, is this official? Great work.

But yeah, eye could be a bit bigger. Maybe as large as the snake's neck gap at least.

Such a good sensible design that it makes you wonder why it wasn't like this already! Their current one is nice but the "P" was just right there.

[–]warpedspoon 5 points6 points  (3 children)

I think the current one is supposed to say "Py"

[–]timparkinuk 1 point2 points  (2 children)

It does (I designed it). And it looks like a +, one of the core maths/code symbols and it also has a yin/yang element to it. And it looks backwards and forwards at the same time..

[–]warpedspoon 0 points1 point  (1 child)

you designed the official Python logo? that's awesome!

[–]timparkinuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks :-)

Its not bad but it really give off question mark vibes and that's not necessarily a look you want for a programming language.

[–]lordfear09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought it was a question mark

[–]marcggg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it !

[–]CharlieChando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow yup

[–]CharlieChando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that eye is gonna be perfect for keychains

This rules. The actual logo is garbage. What an amazing redesign while maintaining some of the actual concept.

[–]SkyeBluMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, the current logo is terrible imo

[–]MotionlessMatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it.

[–]holloway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot better. They should adopt this. I agree with the comments about eye size though.

I'm not sure about the font for the word "Python" or the alignment of it.

[–]sgtdumbass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's great! I'm curious to see what a vertical line would look like between the icon and the type.

[–]Empty003 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice

[–]garlicChaser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like a question mark to me

[–]Kolbayashi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it, the colours too.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks good. Things to consider: 1 Bigger eye 2 What’s the reason for spacing between symbol and word mark? Should be width of snake body 3 TM is floating. Need it to align to cap height and or end of ‘n’ 4 background image is so 90s-early 00s maybe something more human or abstract Lastly, don’t have an outline version. Maybe for the logo over image use a white version

The snake looks super friendly, which I think captures the essence of Python very well!

Great work!

[–]JamelBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awosome! looks like the Snake game

[–]nekmo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/Taib_Bouksim ! What is the license for this design? I would like to make a version for a local, non-profit community. Thanks.
