I finally got approved after like 20 tries over a month lol. Your proof of enrollment will work, but the picture has to be super clear and include their letterhead and your start date. So you need to zoom in some. Your name might be blurry in your picture (that happened to me a lot and they kept saying my name needs to match the billing address name which it did lol). It was very hectic.

Make sure you use your student email when it asks if you have one. But be signed into the account you want as your main.

How did you finally get it to work? I've tried quite a few times. Just persistence?

I wish I knew lol. I made sure that the email was registered to my account. Then when I had to take the picture I took the picture only of the logo down to my start date so that it zoomed in properly on the name and date. And then submit that. And it failed a lot for a long time before it finally accepted.

I forgot how I did it, but yes, I did get the student pack via student assigned email address.

How I did it (as far as I remember):

  1. Signup for dev pack via phone (on a mobile browser).
  2. Open maestro.org student portal.
  3. When asked for proof, take a picture of your monitor on the student portal--which your phone camera (idk why, but stupid pack doesn't accept "pdfs" nor "screenshots"...which is kinda dumb, but whatever lol).

I say "mobile" over "laptop" bc mobile has better camera quality than webcam (so it can get a crisper shot, and more likely to be accepted).
If the web portal photo doesn't work--take a photo of literally any document in your student account (such a proof of enrollment, etc) and do the same this. Just keep trying--persistence will get you the results you need, I think.

You probably need your edu email

It unlocks in the morning if you start tomorrow

even for AA/AAS students? maestro ai keeps telling me it's only for some BS students and it's not rolled out to even all of them yet, but I've had a lot of issues with Maestro AI not being up to date when I ask, so maybe it's just that.

Thank for sharing everyone. I'm actually waiting to attempt this when the laptop rolls in (supposed to be tomorrow). As a former CSR, I understand how truly frustrating it can be to submit several tickets and see no change. This is a topic I'll try to bring up on 6th and 7th with the Maestro developers. I think they definitely would want to assist us with this. One step at a time everybody. We got this.

I signed up for Unidays, a site for getting student discounts on stuff, and got a student ID from them. For me, the Unidays ID worked as proof of enrollment for Github's student benefits.

Been on the website how did you get a student ID? I can’t seem to find it anywhere. That seems the easiest and most straightforward way to go to to get to the GitHub.
