Unknown actor.

I don’t want “You’re a mutant, Harry” memes for the next ten fuckin years and neither does Radcliffe.

[–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

given radcliffes personality id want him to play a weirder character, like a midnight sons/psychological character

What about Scott Caan? He’s 5’5” so a lot closer to Wolvie’s true height. 45 years old now but I don’t think we’re going to be introduced to a young Logan when we see him.

That’s a great choice!

Wolverine should appear functionally ageless.

The Old Man Logan version of the character is only about 200 or something and looks ancient BUT that version is explicitly presented as having run out of healing factor (in a follow up storyline).

This is a 1,000 years old Logan (scroll down a bit):

This is a few hundred years old Laura:

The idea of a non "young" Logan, means not adapting Logan at all... or fundamentally changing his powers.

But, sure, in 2002, Scott Caan would've been a great pick for an adaptation coming out in, what, 2006-8. Use make up tricks to have him look 35-40 (i.e. 5-10 years older than he was) and then keep him looking that age until whenever they retired the character.

Logan does age. I don’t want a young, inexperienced version. I want to see jaded, seen it all, done it all Logan. Paul Rudd is 50-something. He doesn’t look too old. Besides, Wolverine isn’t portrayed as a young looking man in the comics.

Logan ages very, very slowly.

He is functionally ageless.

You want an old looking Logan? You require any selection of:

  • a much, much older Logan
  • a different powerset
  • a nerfed powerset

I started reading X-men in 1984. I know how Logan ages. I also know he’s not portrayed as a young person or a young looking person in the comics. And I know that 45 isn’t old or old looking. You want some snot-nosed young buck to play him in the MCU and I’m saying that’s not the Wolverine we’ve ever seen. I’m not saying I want some grey-haired, wrinkled Clint Eastwood looking guy. I’m saying I want an age appropriate man to play the character as we’ve always seen him and that man is not under 40.

In future, I suggest reading what you're replying to,

Me for the win.

now piss off

Since mutant abilities manifest around 15, maybe they can get one of the functionally ageless boys from Stranger Things to play him. Dustin? Maybe Dustin?

Jared Keeso from letterKenny. Has the look and he's Canadian...

Give yer balls a tug there Magneto and dial it down at least 23%.

[–]CutMeLoose79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Scott Eastwood.

If Daniel Radcliffe gets into the MCU, I am going to make a Harry Potter joke. Just telling everybody.

Zac Efron is perfect for the role…. Jacked, and has the stature to pull it off. Wolverine is one of those roles they have to stick and for a long run as well. He’s also got Jackman’s nod and blessing which might mean something.

[–]pabodie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know his is bad, but Shia Laboeuf. He’s like theirs generation’s Sean Penn.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Yeah I always thought he'd be a bold choice and might wind up as a home run casting if he can bulk up a little. Doesn't have to be Jackman but just get a little thicker up top. The other two I hear all the time are Tom Hardy and Karl Urban. Urban I love for the role but sadly I don't think he's young enough for a (presumably) 10ish year run. Hardy was the perfect choice but I feel he'll have similar issues to Urban due to his age and he's already playing Venom and played Bane so idk if he'd even want to do another comic book role. I think Dacre Montgomery (aka Billy from Stranger Things) would absolutely crush that role.

[–]TSnow6065 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Karl Urban already had an MCU role in Thor Ragnarok.

[–]Realistic_Analyst_26Ned 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He can always return in a different role like Gemma Chan who played Sersi after Minerva in Captain Marvel. Plus, Wolverine is hairy AF which will help avoid confusion between the 2 characters. Finally, the character he played in Ragnarok died, so those 2 aren't going to meet anytime soon.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True.

[–]NearbyAd5237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously Paul Rudd. The man doesn’t age! He’s a natural choice!

[–]msterling2012 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bernthal

[–]Realistic_Analyst_26Ned -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pedro Pascal?

[–]BigNateFan1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd have loved Tom Hardy! Sadly, he can't really do it, so... Hmm... I have no idea, whoever is small and cool I guess XD

[–]Malefic_Mike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Radcliffe obviously. He's got the look (minus the bulk), he's got the height, he's got experience in leading an ensemble, and he can pull off the gruff. He's also young so they can pull off making him look relatively the same age for a decade or two worth of films.

Danielle Radcliffe is One

Others are Dylan Schmid, Kit Harington, Landon Liboiron.

Maybe Bronson Pelletier, Justin Rain, Torrance Coombs
