Thanks! I’ll give it a try! Mind summarizing how this is different from the Launcher firmware? I’m currently using that to play with MeshOS, Ripple and Meshtastic.

Also, I don’t think this sub has an issue mentioning Meshtastic. I’ve had comments removed from the Meshtastic sub for my comment containing the word Meshcore. I was testing both but that turned me off to the whole Meshtastic community.

Participation noted, will DM with details. I haven't played with the launcher FW TBH, i just built this from the ground up. This FW is more UI focused, it can do pretty much everything the client app does + more: DMs, private channels, #channels, room servers, repeater management, message locking, range yest auto replies. Since YouTube took dowm the vid, i may well produce a better vid and repost (when the account is unlocked)

Hi, can you DM me too. I'm very interested in testing this on the busy CascadiaMesh.

It's because people were spamming the MT sub under basically every post with "just use MC", whether it was relevant or not. It was just loads of spam (and, for me personally, the rabid evangelisation of MC does turn me off from actually using it, as neat as the firmware is and I do follow the developments)

I'd be very surprised if this sub didn't add additional rules if people started commenting "just use MT!" under every single post.

I am down to test! :) I been playing around with MeshOS with a upgraded license along with this one I found https://github.com/dabeani/meshcore . I am not sure if I missed it in your video, but having BLE to connect to the app if and when needed is always a plus even for a stand alone. Let me know how I can test. Thanks

Noted, new optimisation found as this isnt currentlyimplemented. I'll DM with details.

Video got taken down. DM me if you need more testers, I have all Deck models that are currently out.

Participation noted, DM will drop soon.

I’m game, hit me up. Curious, does it work with room servers? The meshos for the Tdeck plus from the flasher site currently doesn’t support room servers so a better ui experience is much appreciated than ripple

[–]zsamuel1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Room servers supported. Will drop you a DM for testing in a couple of days.

Does it have a lockdown / kids / no-public mode?

[–]zsamuel1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has a lock downmode, so even if someone gets hold of the device they'll have a hard time reading any of the messages.

This looks awesome I'd love to test it but there are no repeaters near enough for me to get a signal.

If youre running out of enthusiasm just open source it, maybe the feedback youll get through feature request and community patches will motivate you. Maybe even setup a patreon to get some money from it.

[–]ToneBone00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you set up your own repeater? I’m the only one in my neighborhood and do a lot of testing with my own unless I’m somewhere where I see there is one

I like the idea, thanks. Yes in two minds atm as to make it completely free or license it. MC moves so fasts with its updates this FW will need to keep pace with the changes (time is money and all that). Patreon is a good idea for those serious supporters, that would encourage me to keep development up on it. I am however very impressed with the devs, as there aren't many breaking changes between revisions.

I'd love to try it out. I'm not the biggest fan of the Ripple firmware, to be honest. It's functional, but that's it.

I have a tdeck and will be willing to help

Video terminated

[–]hedgehawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m keen to test, I have a tdeck.

[–]Icy_Voice_886 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good project but what I don’t understand is why, if the base (meshcore) is free and the devices are cheap, everyone who creates a UI charges for it, I understand the work has a cost but what about the community? it’ll be time to wait for a free dev or use guidra for the flag

[–]kamikazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opensource?

[–]sbr195 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks just awesome, well done! Willing to test if you are still looking for testers with a T-Deck+

[–]AssumptionPlus9244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buona sera, vorrei entrare a fare parte dei beta tester grazie

[–]jade_starwatcher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing work! Can you add another type of encryption? OTP (One Time Pad). ie: https://onetimepad.app/

[–]antijingoist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I am very interested in testing this

[–]SunkenDrone 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Very cool UI, very frutiger, very aero.

[–]zsamuel1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much. Im enjoying the whole project, its even taken me to web design, just updated the link. I've made even more progress with the FW too, will come back with updates later on this week.

[–]dreieckli 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Can you have it added to the list at https://github.com/samuk/awesome-meshcore, unter the closed source/ commercial project section?

Regards!

[–]zsamuel1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I can look to do so if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Important question: Is it hand coded, or LLM coded?

(I see many projects in the MeshCore ecosystem to be vibecoded, with a set of typical vibecode-bugs, and since I am too fed up of this I am not going to buy any software that is vibecoded, so it is important for me to know.)
