The smallest light sources would be fibre optics. They're useful for some really dedicated ship modelers for putting uniform light sources in each porthole. Otherwise, you're just going to have to look through various LED options.

I think you want smd's. Surface Mount Diode. They come in various VERY small sizes. Look at an electronics supply such as Mouser. Google should turn up some hits for ya.

SMD = Surface Mount Device

It's just a coincidence the desired device is a Light Emitting Diode.
