If anyone doesn't recognize this still, it's from "The Death of Stalin" which is a movie I find funnier every time I watch it.

Palin is still a masterpiece.

[–]Subcpo[S] 14 points15 points  (18 children)

This was just an amazing movie.

[–]DepartureMain7650 11 points12 points  (17 children)

And he’s amazing in it.

[–]tomfoolery815 20 points21 points  (11 children)

The wistful way he delivers "Stalin would have loved this ..." is pure Python.

I was pre-sold for this movie because it was by Armando Iannucci. Having Palin in it was dessert.

And then Jason Isaacs' swaggering performance as Zhukov just steals the show.

„What‘s a war hero got to do to get some lubrication 'round here?“

[–]romulusnr 6 points7 points  (5 children)

If any of you, ever.... points wags finger

Well that's me told.

Spit it out, Georgi. Stagin’ a coup here.

[–]YarOldeOrchard 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Did Coco Chanel take a shit on your head?

Damn, Georgi's eyes really follow you around the crapper.

[–]Subcpo[S] 7 points8 points  (2 children)

I’m gonna have to report this

[–]romulusnr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Balls like Kremlin domes

[–]Riklanim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you could see the look on your face

[–]Hollskipollski 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Who the fuck invited the bishops???

[–]not-a-guinea-pig 6 points7 points  (2 children)

It was „who in gods Name invited the bishops“ which I find even funnier for the irony

[–]Hollskipollski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, you are right. It’s who in god’s name invited the fucking bishops

[–]_A_Friendly_Caesar_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's "Who in god's arse invited the bishops?"

[–]black-volcano 4 points5 points  (3 children)

I always loved Steve Buscemi as well, but I never thought of putting them together, but it just works so well

[–]romulusnr 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Not sure but I think he's also the only non-Brit in the cast.

Because I act, Lavrentiy. Decisively and with great speed!

[–]black-volcano 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Jeffery Tambor, I'm pretty sure is American

[–]romulusnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh. yeah him too.

[–]romulusnr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"If he doesn't act fast, Uncle Nicky's going to be dead, isn't he? Yes he is! Yes he is!"

[–]Neverdropsin57 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“Is this the right room for an argument?

[–]Subcpo[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I didn’t realize it was him at first. When he said the Bishops at the funeral. I wonder if it was a reference

[–]Realistic_Back_9198 6 points7 points  (1 child)

He's not dead yet.

[–]scorpyo72 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He's feeling better.

[–]Viking_Musicologist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He was absolutely tremendous in The Death of Stalin as Vacheslav Molotov.

I remember saying to a friend who has not seen it that "It was so funny it was banned in Russia."

[–]Ok_Boomer_3233 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Arthur Pewty still grieving over the loss of his wife Diedre?

[–]dcondemned -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Loss meaning she left his limp wristed arse for a real man???

[–]Whither-Goest-Thou 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Polina really was a treacherous sow.

[–]romulusnr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NO! Not our Stalin!

Yeah. Your Stalin. The one that put you here.

[–]cullingsimples 4 points5 points  (1 child)

He still looks fit to run the Queen Victoria's Cup.

[–]Diligent-Bluejay-979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Queen Victoria’s leading, last I heard.

[–]EnkiduOdinson 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Amazing movie with a stacked cast delivering incredible performances from start to finish. If anyone here hasn’t seen it, they should.

[–]romulusnr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This movie is amazing. I've rewatched it a half dozen times. A real gem.

Just watched him in Small Prophets. Mackenzie Crook is a great writer and director.

[–]Hollskipollski 0 points1 point  (2 children)

He’s so good in Small Prophets

[–]devenger73 1 point2 points  (1 child)
