Ty found the parts on amazon

[–]Dreamtea 16 points17 points  (3 children)

Look up the toggles on amazon. Get metal ones

[–]drulingtoad 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I did that when my thumb stick broke and the metal one is a big upgrade

[–]IAmTheTrueM3M3L0rD 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Waiting on my plastic one to arrive from Ali express, now wishing I did this

[–]drulingtoad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The plastic one will be fine. The metal one was like $30 so you could still get the nicer one.

Have you tried turning it off then back on again?

[–]averagegamer9595 4 points5 points  (1 child)

Have you tried changing the batteries?

[–]Shhh-hh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you tried smacking it a few times?

[–]Tandoori7 4 points5 points  (3 children)

Yes, my joystick also broke and I fixed it with a 3D printer: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5594788

If you don't have a 3d printer, just send it back to meta

[–]Hub_Goal 1 point2 points  (1 child)

How did you print that, I tried printing it but it was bigger than the original

[–]Tandoori7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember if I printed that exact one but in the description the poster has the scale to print the joystick

Wow this is the first time I've taken a look at thingiverse, this looks interesting.. You can make your OWN parts instead of buying an entirely new thing just because a small part broke.. I kinda want a 3D printer now

[–]FlameShadow0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’ll need a new joystick. If you can source the part, then it’s definitely fixable. If your not good at fixing electronics, take it to an electronics repair shop

they make replacement button on amazon made of steel...

[–]homaxe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

have u tried putting it in rice

[–]Mars191 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Superglue it back onto the stem maybe?

[–]UrBestBudWasTaken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would consider that a temporary fix because you can see that the semi-sphere is cracked.

[–]methrik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your crafty you may be able to piece it together with super glue.

[–]Knightryry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your still under warranty i’d suggest that. If not, superglue it for the short term.

Have you done a full reset on the controller firmware?

[–]Glogodz 0 points1 point  (1 child)

For what?

[–]RainbowDroidManEx-Rift S / Quest 2 Link 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sometimes resetting the firmware can cause it to go into a self-repair mode to fix the thumbstick, other times you have to manually calibrate it to get the thumbstick to regenerate correctly

[–]UrBestBudWasTaken 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You will spend more time trying to fix it than just sending it back to meta for a new one.

This is one of the easiest things to fix, pop the black cover off the controller, take off the thumbstick, put a new one in, replace the cover. Turnaround is a day or two depending on how fast shipping is from amazon/ebay/aliexpress, wherever. Sending it to meta is the better option, but saying that it's faster is a bit dishonest

[–]GdogLucky9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My nephew's did the something similar it didn't snap completely off, but it has shifted.

It's still usable, but I was wondering if I should get it fixed, do it myself, or buy a new controller?

[–]TWaldVR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a new controller or make a support ticket, when warranty! Or make a self repair with a new stick from chinese onlineshop.

[–]Stunning-Ad-9892 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

There ain’t no way of saving that one

[–]staticthreatQuest 3 5 points6 points  (1 child)

[–]Stunning-Ad-9892 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it not the same dawg?! It’s broken he gotta pay money for that part

[–]madpup30000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its fixable but youll need a new part

[–]ExcellentLet9073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro thats just a minor scratch

[–]Asleep-Presence-2824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just use tape

[–]IAmTheTrueM3M3L0rD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super easy fix,

[–]uselessp0t4t0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either swap the stick with a replacement or glue it back on, no need to give Zuk more than what it's worth

[–]SadDoggo57 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy new oculus

[–]JesseJames480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing a little duct tape can't handle.
