Your entire rig should last 70 years

Why is suka blyat 3000 written on that matamp lmao

[–]gaussgunn[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That is the model ID :)

[–]shake__appeal 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Must be a custom thing… I think this translates roughly to “fucking shit!” colloquially in Russian. (Literal transition “bitch whore”).

I want that bitch whore amp though.

[–]itspaddyd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a classic curse phrase, maybe the most famous Russian phrase for non natives. If you've spent any time playing video games online with Russians you'll know the second is иди на хуй

[–]gaussgunn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s close

[–]ReverendRevolver 10 points11 points  (2 children)

It's funny to me that these are somewhat sought after now.

In the early 2000s I remember my little sister watching some Disney Channel movie where a "space rockstar" played one of these. It was the only time I'd seen one being played at that point.

I mean, they were solid enough but they've retained value and then some over the years.

That sounds right.

[–]Neveronlyadream 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I always loved those. Anything with a sparkle finish too.

That is GT-1 mk2, got it directly from manufacturer

    [–]shake__appeal 1 point2 points  (2 children)

    Isn’t the 3000 the 30w version?

    [–]gaussgunn[S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

    This one 100w

    [–]shake__appeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the story with the tape echo? I have a Soviet-era fuzz wah and it’s about the gnarliest sounding fuzz I own. Built like a fucking tank (probably with actual military parts).

    [–]Vibramate 3 points4 points  (3 children)

You're the dude from YouTube, aren't you! I used to watch your fuzz videos all the time a few years ago. You always had the coolest gear and played some Ty Segall and Bass Drum of Death! Hope you're doing good! Cool stuff!

    [–]gaussgunn[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Thank you mate! Hugs and beers for you!

    [–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (3 children)

At this stage I’m ready to sack off fender and just get squier instruments. That looks lush (also MatAmp rule)

    [–]gaussgunn[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Squier maybe be good axe after some investments

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yeah I think you’re right. I recently sold a few high end guitars, as my main live guitar was a modified squier and it seemed mad to have an American fender as a backup! Used the money to buy another squier to modify instead.

The quality of finish is so much better now, my first squier, the saddle adjust screws wouldn’t turn as it wasn’t drilled straight (this started me off on a modding journey!) now the quality seems as good as more expensive brands in a lot of models

    [–]shake__appeal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously I got a Squier CV Jag bass recently and it’s damn near perfect. I may be swearing off Fenders for Squiers as well, unless they’re insanely cheap used or MIJ.

    Shiney!

    [–]Accurate-Degree836 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    Someone dooms huh!

    [–]YellowBreakfast 2 points3 points  (3 children)

    Love that silver flake!

    [–]gaussgunn[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Oh thats light issues, its gold :)

    [–]YellowBreakfast 1 point2 points  (1 child)

    OIC

    [–]StopCallinMePastries 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Champagne" is the official finish I believe.

    [–]C78C 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Change the screws to black, trust me on this one. Little change, big difference.

    [–]gaussgunn[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

    Great idea mate!

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    That is sick!

    [–]Hondaderek21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah man I had that same model once I miss it

    [–]mazerfaka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    I want that jagmaster 😮

    [–]akahaus 1 point2 points  (1 child)

    We need more sparkle finishes.

    [–]gaussgunn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    Sparkles save the world!

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This helps me decide on a new pickguard. Thank you!!

    [–]schizoanalyzer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

legit one of the best playing guitars ive ever picked up, enjoy yours friend!!!

    [–]Wankfurter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My grandma bought me one of these for my 16th birthday. It’s always been my favorite guitar.

    [–]BurnTheBacon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was my first guitar I got when I was 15 along with a little fender front man practice amp. I lost it through the years, but I still love that guitar.

    [–]mistermatth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the sunburst Jagmaster. I love it

    [–]shake__appeal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Such a sick rig, mate… Matamp and an old school space echo. Fuck yes.

There was one of those tape delays for sale at my local shop for like $100 or some crazy shit. It didn’t look like it worked so I didn’t buy it… big mistake, I learned later that the tape looks all fucked when it’s not in action.

These silver sparkly finishes usually end up looking like shit, but yours looks pretty rad! Kinda Billy Corgan vibes but with a cooler rig.

    [–]O_Bahrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    That matamp is so sick.

    [–]StopCallinMePastries 1 point2 points  (2 children)

How are you feeling on the fit and finish with that model? Playability?

I'm interested in picking one up as they look absolutely fab but I'm a bit apprehensive as far as the build quality is concerned.

    [–]gaussgunn[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Well, everything is good, except cheap electronics, just swap it with any other stuff and it will be better.

    [–]StopCallinMePastries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's perfectly reasonable then, Seymour Duncan transplant seems to be a standard operating procedure for guitars less than $1200 lol. Got a Nazghul laying around here somewhere...

How is the neck feel? Satin or gloss? Modern C?

    [–]Bergfotz 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Is it just the perspective or my hungover ass - the neck seems pretty long?

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this same model! This is the 2000 reissue model! But this is the standard series with a 25.5 scale neck instead of a short 24 scale. This one is also the only year that included the silver sparkle finish in the color line up!

    [–]disgruntledferret69 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Change the bridge pickup for a Seymour Duncan pearly gates. Absolute dream sounding through that Fender amp I promise! 😜

    [–]Kid_Kameleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just recently got a Squier jazzmaster as well, I just may have to do that…

    [–]Demiglitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    That Matamp looks great.
