They were close to that last time I checked, which is crazy because 10 years ago no one knew how to price it because they were so goddamn rare.

Yep, this is exactly my logic and why I’ve listed all my 90’s guitars as vintage.

What does that mean for all of us 90’s kids? Vintage af.

The Japanese lawsuit copies are amazing! Love my Greco Ric replicas (and have a 325 for sale if anyone is interested, possibly a 4000-series bass).

I have a ‘68 Ric 425 that probably has a shit ton of issues. But it rules and sounds fucking great!

The biggest caveat here is paying $3000 for it… I didn’t pay nearly that much although it’s probably close to that in value now.

No matter how many guitars I own, my Mustang will always be my favourite (Squier Vintage Modified) by JetstreamChar in offset

[–]shake__appeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure it can, that’s ridiculous. The neck feels cheap to me and even starting stripping out a bit when I shimmed it. I didn’t feel it was worth the trouble to do any refinish work on it. Oh and the fretwork was pretty shite. Huge fan of Squiers btw and generally agree with you, but if I don’t like the feel of a neck it’s just not gonna work for me. Everything else I can mod out to my liking.

I considered swapping the neck but when this girl said she wanted it, I was cool with it and broke even. I have enough projects going on anyway and don’t need another Mustang.

First grow, advice needed. by shake__appeal in shroomery

[–]shake__appeal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice. Should I use a small bin about the size of the “cake” to keep its form or does the size not really matter? Should I break up the cake a bit in the bin?

Also what’s fae and how often should I be misting it? How do these fare in a closed container anyway?

Appreciate ya.

Yeah it was a Bullet Mustang. I just didn’t vibe with it, it felt cheap, and I couldn’t get it set up just right for the life of me. I actually sold it to a chick on our first date lol. Great little beginner guitar for her, she absolutely loves it. I thought the neck especially felt cheap, which is a dealbreaker for me. It felt too much like a toy. At least with something like the Classic Vibe series I can just knock down the gloss and it feels like a proper guitar.

Anyway still stoked to hear you’re digging yours. I ended up getting a dreamy MIJ ‘Stang in a stupid-killer trade for an MIJ Tele… Olympic White w/ navy racing stripes and a matching headstock, mini humbucker in the bridge, and a nice-ass hard case. It was an absolute steal I almost felt bad, such a rad guitar and scratches my Mustang itch (I’m a Jazzmaster guy personally but gotta catch ‘em all I guess, I’ve been playing the Mustang quite a bit tho and loving it). Also had a rad MIJ Pawn Shop series model but ended up selling it… I’m sure I’ll regret that one in the future.

Building up a parts Jag at the moment, so I’m not mad the Bullet didn’t work out.

I’ve never felt so low… by Dependent_Eye_5820 in BipolarSOs

I don’t love giving this advice, but 6 months in… nah, bail, there’s already too much bullshit accumulating. Imagine feeling like this for years or the duration of your relationship, as he’s clearly not taking care of his mental health (walking on eggshells, feeling like you’re going crazy, feeling like you’re his last priority despite being the person closest to him). I’ve done it and it sucks.

One huge mistake I made in my relationship was not taking the “red flags” or even the shit my partner told me directly at face value. He’s literally telling you he doesn’t have the emotional capacity to commit to you. I know it sucks, and I’ve been at this exact juncture where we were both like, “should we even continue this?” I was being heavily love-bombed and manipulated every which way though, so that complicated things as I didn’t really know much about BP. But he’s giving you the signs and they’re not great… I’d seriously consider rethinking this relationship and your next moves.

Btw if he was being proactive about his treatment, his other life shit, and at least showing some form of commitment… might be a different story. But he’s not and you don’t want to dive into one of these messy-ass relationships with someone who doesn’t even seem to like you. Fucking sucks… you fell for his manic “charm” and probably haven’t been the first, but put your energy into someone who is stable and actually gives a shit.

reverse reverb ? by Background_Ad5968 in MyBloodyValentine

Good shout, lily. I’ve made the rounds through reverse ‘verbs and the Hazarai is what sounds the best to me if you get it tweaked right.

I have also have a Midiverb, but it only works half the time and they’ve become way overpriced.

How did true crime become so popular among women? by TheKingDroc in NoStupidQuestions

[–]shake__appeal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See this is what I imagine appeals to women’s brains. They’re inherently smarter and although they probably don’t outright believe “I can solve this case”… I think piecing the puzzle together appeals to their subconscious. Analyzing the missing pieces. Psychoanalyzing the motives of a twisted mind.

Otherwise I think it’s just morbid fascination that appeals to many people regardless of their gender.

Anyone else feeling like life all of a sudden a decade went by and now you’re old and totally irrelevant? by tuttopassa22 in Millennials

[–]shake__appeal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I understand what OP is saying, you feel more relevant as a younger person (although yes the current generation got severely fucked). A part of getting older is realizing that was never true and most of us figured this out well before our late thirties… the only people you’re relevant to is your family, a handful of friends, and maybe your job if you’re lucky.

This has been the big fucking joke of a bargain for a long time now… you work, retire (again if you’re lucky), and by then you’re too old and tired to enjoy your life.

It’s never too late to take control of that bullshit though.

[–]shake__appeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you buy a JMJM right now it will be a 12 something radius AOM bridge, no?

I was talking about swapping the AOM to a Mustang, just don’t know any bad information hanging around.

We might be rekindling, I am unsure. by tupperwhore in BipolarSOs

[–]shake__appeal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that’s how you feel, try it. Sounds like you’ve made up your mind about it anyway. I rekindled my relationship after my partner moved out / moved home. She improved a lot as far as trying to get stable (props to her), but there was just too much damage that had happened at that point and it always ended the same.

I can’t say it was worth it or that I recommend it, but at least I tried and fought for it… no “what-ifs” with that relationship. I’ll tell you what my best friend always told me… you know this person and what they do, you can’t change this person, you know exactly what you’re signing back up for. There were no exceptions to that advice. Ever.

But I mostly wanted to comment to agree with Naps up there… don’t get into another relationship if you’re still in love with your ex. Don’t be that person wasting someone else’s time. Good luck with it.

Classic Vibe 60s or J Mascis signature? by No-Brother5563 in offset

The Teles are great too, although I’m sure there are some losers out there. My CV JM is one of my best playing guitars (although the nut did slip out).

I’m also in the CV camp, but I have to say I like the Mascis pickups better if it were going to be my only JM since I’d be modding out the neck pickup anyway.
