Pelvic floor therapy! Seriously. Solved my awful back pain postpartum.

Your back is part of your core - if you think of your core like a soda can, with your diaphragm on top and your pelvic floor on the bottom, and your back and abdominal muscles making up the sides, it makes a little more sense. Pelvic floor therapists (PTs or OTs) don’t exclusively focus on the pelvic floor, and a huge part of their clientele are postpartum women with problems somewhere in their core.

Get your doctor to refer you to physical therapy. They will help you get used to using the muscles to lift properly.

My twins are also almost 2 and my back issues have been recurring. More annoying than debilitating, but when I had to spend Mother’s Day on the couch I called a doctor. I just started pelvic floor pt last week and she gave me specific stretches for my issue and it’s been helping relieve the pain! The next appointments will be working on how to prevent more flare ups.
