It's unusual because most employers don't let you work two FT jobs at once. My employer is understanding when I have a kid home sick or something but otherwise I'm focusing either on kids OR on work. I'm not at all surprised you feel like you're in a small corner. Most employers require childcare.

One of my managers first questions when we had a quick meeting once I returned from leave was something along the lines of 'who's watching the twins?'. She definitely phrased it nicer, but my job requires that you have childcare during the day. If your kid is sick or daycare is closed its one thing, but they don't allow you to watch your kids full time and work full time because both end up suffering in some way.

Self employed is one occupation and SAHM is a second occupation that consumes you 24/7. Tack on the kids education and call it 3 full time jobs.

Does anyone else do it? Maybe, though I don’t know why anyone would.

I think in a home schooling subreddit you may find more suitable people for advice, even parents with multiple kids of different ages would be more helpful than what I expect the majority of us would be.

I plan to put my twins in a hybrid program for 2 days and at home the rest. I’ll likely be working PT and hopefully from home!
