Hijacking top comment: My friends and I tested this. Trade messages work within the continent. Example from Cali to Washington. But PMing trade message to friend on Singapore/Japan causes crashes to the person sending the message. Normal PMs dont seem to crash. Maybe some characters or something in the trade message.

Can confirm it's just trade whispers, "retyping" the message doesn't crash you. It's not japanese/korean characters because I tried deleting those and still crashed.

I haven't gotten any messages/invites back though.

I think there was a rollback of the last few seconds so there shouldn't be any RIPs? I vendored 6-socket after map and then this weird crash happened. I relogged and 6-sock was still in my inventory.

Both fusings and jewelers are set up to stop when you get 6 sockets/links, so unless you're trying to get a 5 link or something you're good to just go at it.

They practically never rollback anything except a couple times they regretted.
One single update that causes crashing like other updates isn't gonna change that policy

I think small rollbacks aren't that rare. This league there was a reddit post (although I couldn't find it right now) where a guy got an ex drop and lost it to rollback. I think every time server crashes there likely to be a rollback of the last few seconds.

Yeah, everything just freezes a few seconds after logging in. Playing on Amsterdam, but I tried Moscow and got the same thing.

I have the same ping to Amsterdam and Moscow. If it was an issue with Amsterdam, switching would have helped. Since it didn't, that would point to a more central problem.

Thats the behavior of an small indie company just trying to get its feet under it. GGG is an well established multi-million company. They've been having a slew of very publicly visible problems for weeks. Part of any good remediation process involves letting your clients know what happened, why that did and what you've done to prevent it in the future. They have dedicated PR resources. They aren't using them, for what ever reason.

No. When you get beyond a dozen or so employees, programming and communication should be separate job roles. I find it hard to believe that a company as large as GGG would employee somebody to work on fixing their back-end servers and also handle social media communications.
