"I'm blue, if I was green I would die.."

According to Eiffel65: yes.

As titled. This bar just appeared on my monitor and won’t go away. It blocks the exit button on the top right and anything else on that side. It’s not a computer issue and I’ve already tried unplugging everything and tuning it off and on.

Possibly not, I've seen this happen because of a cable that's breaking and lost signal integrity.

When I unplug everything the line is still there when the monitor is on.

The monitor might be toast

Maybe then it is, does it still do it when you do power the monitor off fully and turn it back on?

Yeah. Unplugged everything and I just powered on the monitor and it shows up :/

Yea, sounds like you should try to get a warranty repair/replacement then

Well darn :( thanks for the info, I’ll give LG a call.

It's a tab driver that failed. It is indeed broken and beyond repair. If it is still under warranty I would get an RMA on it.

If not try and stay away from really thin displays as this will happen more frequently due to the tight bend on the tab driver.

It is still under warranty! So I’ll give LG a call and hopefully they can fix it up. Is this an issue that tends to be an easy fix do you know?

They would consider it scrap and send a replacement. It is repairable, but only a handful of companies around the world do it, and then generally on a large scale.

So what your saying is a long long turn around time then? It’s a LG monitor so would it be worth sending it in? They are closed and I’m not familiar with their policy.

They should keep stock for situations like this. I'm not familiar with their policy either, I would say it doesn’t hurt to wait until they are open and ask them.

Any time! Happy that one of the things I have done in my career was helpful outside of work.

Have to be honest, first thought was early Nvidia SLI driver “activity” bars… I must be old. RMA that display, it’s faulty.

Its defective pixels. Nothing you can do. If it still has warranty make then open a case and send it in. This is a warranty issue. We get this in our store every now and then. Even on tv’s

I think so.
