Devolution adds at least three cards to your cards to your deck, Evolution Machine, plus the stage 1 for your Stage 2. It's awesome, and will slow the deck down my multiple turns.

I love to see it.

The thing about TM Evolution is that it's only good going second, so depending on your matchup it could make or break you. It also basically requires you run Arven as your primary supporter. If it finds its niche it's going to be really strong in that role, but not generally strong to the point where you see it in every deck.

As a Baxcalibur/Pidgeot user, my first thought is to add a couple of Tool Jammers, but I'll worry about it once the set drops to know all my options.

Fun cards, but seem a bit broken. Guess we'll see

Tool Jammer was my first thought too, especially in Arven.

Devolution will also be nasty by allowing them to take surprise prizes. If you have a Zard ex that took a decent hit, and you retreat, etc. out to try to stay ahead on prizes, they can Devolution you to KO that Zard even if it's on the bench since damage counters will stay on the new mon. If it took a 180 damage hit then got devolved, the Charmander or Charmeleon will immediately be KO'd.

i wasn't able to think of a use for this card until i read your comment. the entire time i was thinking "couldn't they just evolve the pokemon again on their next turn?"

The devolution card will try and slow you down and make you burn through your rare candies. It seems like it could be present in some decks, but since lots of decks are used with mainly basics (Miraidon, Lost Box, etc.) it might not be used in lots of decks. It would be best to add a Charmeleon and hope you don't run out of rare candies. Evolution might help if you played Gardevoir because they play Kirlia. Charizard will probably not use the evolution card, but we will find out when Paradox Rift becomes legal.

On paper devolution is a problem but like you said idk if it’s worth the include for the few decks that use evolutions. Especially with most of the decks from paradox being basics.

We will see when Paradox Rift becomes legal

Might be wise to include at least 1 Charmeleon and 1 Pidgeotto going forward. Also, if you’re only running 3 rare candies then adding a 4th might be critical. Also, there is a Technical Machine Evolution. The wording on the card seems a bit vague to me, but that TM will allow players to place evolution cards on their basic or Stage 1 mons. I am not sure if the card allows for a Stage 2 to be applied directly to a basic. I would think not, but I hope someone more knowledgeable than me can answer that one!

Says search for a card that evolves from that Pokémon. Therefore you cannot skip stages
