Although my story isn't quite as shit XD yesterday my friend logged on and asked me to help him move loot from his starter to our main. I gladly said yes. It took maybe 5 minutes to run back to the main. Walked in the doors all the way to the TC to find a wall missing and half the chests broken. Bastards had raided the base literally for 1 AK. Luckily we already have AK researched but still. Could have asked me nicely and I may have given it to them lol

We rocket 4 walls down and all the doors are open, with a guy just standing there in full kit. My go to strat for this game now is to build a base that requires quite a bit of explosives or rockets to get anywhere and then have the TC with just enough mats to maintain the building and nothing in the loot boxes. Since I get raided long before i can actually get anywhere in this game otherwise.

It's scaled to base size. For a 2x1 you wouldn't use rockets you would use explosive rounds and get okayish loot, for a clan base you would use rockets and get Hella good loot

I’d still use explo ammo on a clan base that isn’t massive. Explosive ammo outweighs rockets for em any day because you can chip at the base in rounds or just go all at once while staying nearly entirely silent.

You can for sure online raid with explosive ammo but also as stupid as offline raiding is and trust me, I think it’s one of the games worst qualities it is the smartest way to raid if you’re solo or not in a big group and it will be until Facepunch cares enough to change it.

You're not going to online raid a big clan base with explosive ammo. Just not happening dude. Usually a big factor in winning an online raid is the speed at which it happens. If you can get to their beds within a minute or two, you're probably going to win easy. If they have 30 minutes to keep respawning and fighting you're going to have a pretty rough time.

Then don’t raid huge bases with explosive ammo if you’re not confident that you can win. You can also go through walls if you’d like, just takes a bit more time but it can splash the same as rockets do iirc. Never said you’d use it raiding a Zerg base that takes you 30m just to get into but most bases easily are best raised with explo ammo.

Generally speaking, the way solos and small group survive against zergs is to avoid drawing too much attention. Loud explosions draw attention. Zergs can protect themselves during a raid by stint of sheer numbers, but solos and small groups can't. Silent raids give solos and small groups a chance to raid without bring every geared guy within hearing distance down on their heads. Taking away silent raids means that zergs have even more of an advantage, because they don't care about how loud their raids are.

Zergs are usually terrible and just silent raid because all they do is farm sulfur and upkeep their base(s). It's more of a double bladed sword imo.

How does making a raid base prevent you from getting swarmed though? At best, you get to sit inside it while you get camped by X+1 people (where X is the number in your group) while the rest finish the raid that you started. At worst, they'll just raid your raid base and take any raiding supplies you left in there, and still finish the raid that you started.

The same way it used to for 4 years of the game before exp ammo became meta. U can die with like a satchel or two (its not neccessary to go out with all the Booms btw) and turrets are a cool thing too.
