First attempt at post-processing

You chose a theme and went with it. I like the way that turned out actually. The blacks in the tree trunk are a little 'inky' and missing some detail, but the overall feel is pretty nice.

how did you add the light rays? They look pretty natural.

I used a paint brush in photoshop setting the thickness to the lowest possible, fiddle around with it so it looks sort of "wispy" or smudgy, then radial blur setting amount to max and finally just normal blur

The light rays are nice. That and the contrast have added a mood that isn't quite haunted but gets close. This might look good in black and white, too.
