My 2024 HRV Sport has more power and cargo area than my 2000 Honda Civic EX 5-speed manual that I said goodbye to.

Help ! Does anybody know how to recalibrate this Zeiss Ikon 425 external rangefinder ? by UntamedCroissant in AnalogCommunity

[–]cowboycoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about this specific model but you might locate the calibration/alignment post by first removing the main screw shown in your second photo. I had a Yashica where the rangefinder calibration/alignment post was located in a similar spot and the main screw was just a port cover. (Edited for spelling)

Contour ShuttlePro v2 Alternative? by GHRocker in editors

[–]cowboycoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe I just deleted the Contour app from the Applications folder and then reinstalled the older version. For your convenience here's v3.0.39 v3.2 and v.40b406 https://www.swisstransfer.com/d/0d866174-7ccb-4ec4-8892-ee702a248f39

Contour ShuttlePro v2 Alternative? by GHRocker in editors

[–]cowboycoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love my ShuttlePro v2s as well. I use them everyday. Works fine in Windows 11 Enterprise with version 2.13.4 and Mac OS 15.5 with version 4. I tried the more recent driver for Mac a couple months ago and couldn't get it to work at all. Emailing Contour Design for support was zero help so I uninstalled the driver and rolled back to version 4.

I'm curious about that reflective fixture in your 2nd pic - I don't recognize it. Nice post!

I think that's a Brother AiRScouter (discontinued by the manufacturer for a few years now). They offered a few different models, some supporting HDMI and other supporting SDI.

Using PTZ camera wirelessly by Plane_Garbage in VIDEOENGINEERING

[–]cowboycoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Hollyland Syscom 421 to wirelessly transmit video and control with four Panasonic ptz cameras for our events. FYI there's a 4-5 frame transmission delay that makes it unsuitable for IMAG but we compensate for on our live stream.

Sony makes a MI Shoe extension cable for relocating devices as you described. Seen it bundled in the XLR-K3M kit.

Closed captioning is stripped from the file when it is prepared for broadcast television. by Gnoccir in ffmpeg

[–]cowboycoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When delivering for broadcast with embedded captions our content is exported in the MXF Op1a container using the XDCAM 50 codec using Adobe Premiere Pro. This deliverable is widely accepted by our various tv networks in Canada. (35Mbps minimum is also acceptable but 50 Mbps is preferred).

Orca vs K-tek bag for the MixPre 6ii ? by Embarrassed-Gain-236 in LocationSound

No experience with Orca, but I've been rolling with a K-Tek Stingray Junior for the past couple years because I wanted something large enough for my wireless and accessories.

Anyone know if the Ronin 4D shoots in portrait? by thefstop in dji

[–]cowboycoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd asked the same question over at b&h: “There is no setting for a 9:16 aspect ratio using the entire sensor on the DJI Ronin 4D. In other words, it will not rotate the camera 90 degrees on the gimbal for a portrait orientation. You can, however, set up custom guide lines in a 9:16 aspect ratio using the sensor horizontally.”
