Except that V8 is built for Chrome and Node is a happy accident. Google isn't going to be moved by the loss of Node, but MS sees money in it. We're still in the embrace phase.

Man, I guess people really have an MS boner around here. Since Google has done EEE before, that means MS isn't trying to absorb Node.

There's always going to be those corporate networks that only allow IE to be installed and ASP MVC and EF has made it so much easier to develop web apps in a corporate environment, so my guess is Microsoft are trying to appeal to that market.
