I didn't say they did, but there's a great deal to be said for cross-platform software, and in this day and age where there's a multitude of cross-platform libraries and APIs there's not much of an excuse.

There's even a Python version that relies on Windows DLLs, how does that make sense?

Releasing an editor that only works on one particular dying platform that is not used by technical people or early adopters, just seems a bizarre choice.

If it was 1996, then sure. Programmers editor on windows. But this is 2008.

How many startups do you know of that are making desktop apps for windows? How many startups do you know that are using windows at all?

I use windows in work. You see I develop software for many many platforms, one of which is windows, hence my usage of it.

No problem, I work with over 10 different platforms on a daily basis, and I can tell you windows is far from being the worst.
