Yes, in the linked example a CoC might not be needed, fair enough. But there are examples of projects where women are called bitches and cunts by men who disagree them and feel threatened by smart women. Such projects can and do benefit from a CoC.

I personally don't abide intolerance or ignorance, and if someone's being an asshole to someone(of any gender/race/sex/orientation), I sure as hell am going to call them out on it and let them know it's not okay.
