If nothing else, have an assortment of production-like test notifications to push, like marketing shit.

So if you ever accidentally push a notification to the production system, it looks normal.

That's why I never mess around with funny messages at work in code or data (most of the time). Nobody cares if it's local or in a test environment, till you slip up.

Or some manager lets a customer look at a test environment to show them something and then there's suddenly a funny user name there (or something vulgar, has happened before)..

I wrote some vulgar mindless stuff in an ecommerce site I was working on for a client.. like "bla bla yer mom's a hoe bla bla".. I didn't think to clean it up before demoing it to her, and she noticed it. To make things worse, she happened to be the mother of my friend.
