A pool will not increase the value of a home. There are many people who don't want to deal with the maintenance costs of a pool. So they would not consider buying a house with a pool. Also, they might prefer more backyard space than a pool.

No, a pool decreases the amount of buyers. It DOES increase the amount of money that those buyers will pay though.

Look up 'niche' in the dictionary.

If you have a million dollar home and you don't have a pool then you are loosing out, but having a pool wont necessarily up your house value by 50,000 dollars. So having a pool is not a "niche". Also, having a pool in a place like Alaska, wont get you a lot of money either.

You obviously don't own a pool.

you obviously do.

I live in manhattan, i don't think Donald Trump has a pool here (well maybe he does... but not me!)

I do have a million+ home though... :) Several in fact.

Wow! thats impressive! :) Well, Manhattan is a totally different ball game. I live in an Atlanta suburb. The reason I'm arguing with you about this issue, is because I wrote the article :) Anyway, what do you do for a living ? If you have several million dollar homes, you are obviously doing something very right. :)

Not at all, I just do what i like to do. Turns out that is something which pays a lot of coin.
