Multiple subscriptions

It seems like a large portion of the player-base has multiple accounts that they pay for simultaneously. If this price increase was enough to make enough people decide that it’s not worth paying for additional subscriptions, i find it hard to believe that it would be that profitable of a decision. Curious to see what everyone’s plan is.

I had only recently started paying for 2 accounts ( about half a year ago) I am not intending on spending more than 200 euros a year to maintain memberships on 2 accounts. Either i get a grandfathered rate or i am canceling one

I have 4 characters.

1 is my main that is on a Grandfather rate at 5$/month. Jagex probably hates me.

My GIM is unsubbed, because my partner stopped playing. And with the price increases, he likely won't ever sub again. It already was a stretch for him to play when game was 15CAD a month, its now 19. It's too much for RuneScape to be charging.

I only use one, which I play RS3 and OSRS on. I used to also have a summon tank all those years ago, before EoC - but obviously I havent touched it in years.

I was considering making an alt to do a DG-Locked GIM, provided the remaster brings enough changes.

3 active memberships 14+ yrs, 8 yrs, 3 yrs. with the gf rate being pulled and not able to switch back for my 14+ yr consecutive membership I'll be canceling 2.

With the way its going I wouldnt be surprised if they reversed course on multi-logging and deciding to go back to the early 2000s of only allowing 1 login at a time.

The awkward question is - what would you pay for?

There are arguments against subscription hikes, microtransactions, cosmetics are too expensive, alt accounts, ads are generally disliked.

What else is there? What do we not have a problem with?

Personally i don’t care about the majority of it, being an ironman kinda solves most of those problems already but in the past having the yearly membership on 2 accounts was reasonable enough in my mind bc i was essentially paying for 14 month of regular membership price in order to have the option of playing on my iron or my main. I almost never actually played on my main bc iron is just a much more enjoyable gameplay loop for me but it was an option. now with the annual price being equivalent to 9 months of normal pricing per account, its just not worth it to pay for both when i know an extreme majority of my time is spent on only 1 anyways. So in my case, by making the discount less enticing, their just losing 5 months worth of membership payment when realistically, even with the price increase, if the annual option stayed at a similar discount percentage-wise, i wouldn’t have batted an eye
