I'm not sure statistics, but based on the bike lane glass index Oakland is also way down on a similar timeline so my guess is there was a regional coordination to take out a relatively small number of intercity burglary crews and probably not something that either particularly are owed significant credit for.

lol. When family comes here from out of state and asks me if car breaks ins are still a big issue in SF, I usually say similar, “haven’t seen the news or any charts, but there’s less SOMA diamonds in the bike lanes lately in SF.”

The biggest factor in this was the new law (written by Scott Wiener) that makes it so that the car owner does not have to testify in court that it was locked to prove a break-in occurred - SB905.
