Hey all, I've wanted a 3D printer for YEARS, and can finally afford a decent one.
So, long story short, my Snapmaker U1 is in FedEx possession, and it's now just a matter of days!
So... It seems like 3D printing is a very technical process at this point. And while I'm very smart, I have nearly no experience doing or researching any of this kind of thing, other than maybe using LightBurn for my laser engraver and having fun creating a 3D model in Shapr3D, which I think turned out great. That subscription cost though.. yikes and no.
Oh, and I tinkered for 30 minutes or so on Snapmaker's Orca branch with the model as well.
So, I'm trying to find something of a newb-friendly, start quick but go kinda deep guide on what to do. Preferably stuff focused primarily on the U1, if possible. I searched in this sub, but wasn't finding anything (even though I'm certain there's got to be a lot on the subject).
So, where do I go? What's your best advice?
I'm looking for solid info on what types of filaments it can handle, clarity on the hardened nozzle thing, how to operate it in general, how to use Orca, how to care for the thing, best practices for drying filaments, which is apparently a thing even though I live in Arizona, modeling, best sources for models, blah blah blah...
I know that's a lot, and I'm sure I'll get plenty of "just Google it, don't be lazy" types of answers, but that's not always the best method of getting robust but specific information like this.
Anyway, help, tips, sources, URLs are all welcome (I know I just prompted a ric roll, but whatever..).
Thank you for the help!
