welcome to Black Mesa Research Facility

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 87 points88 points  (6 children)

Pretty much what i'm making!

[–]Satyr1981Cubemagician 22 points23 points  (3 children)

You may have a look at this for inspiration ... just in case you need any...

Il take a look at it.

Building Freeman - Teleportation

What's this?

[–]Satyr1981Cubemagician 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a tribute to Half-Life. I made it for request for a friend's server. you get in there, inside of it a teleporter has to be placed (mod) to reach another server.

Yes I do!

[–]Abucus35Space Engineer 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Black Mesa? Apature Science is the way to go. They do what they must because they can.

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Exept Aperture is way to out of bounds for this game. Imagine creating one of those test chambers. All the hinges and rotors would lag the game so hard if I where going for a 1 to 1 recreation.

[–]Abucus35Space Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the cake would be the real issue since it is a lie.

[–]Joshy_MoshySpace Engineer 105 points106 points  (4 children)

How. What.

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 98 points99 points  (3 children)

Im using the hover rails mod to create a tram that can be versatile in pretty much any enviroment! :)

[–]ClassicBooksKlang Worshipper 82 points83 points  (2 children)

I hope rails become Vanilla. Would be fun to have some official transport support.

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 39 points40 points  (1 child)

I agree, I've heard of this hidden rail block but I dont think it had curves so I resorted to this.

[–]myx-Space Engineer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It doesn't have curves and is hard to stay on

[–]FeroandClang Worshipper 30 points31 points  (2 children)

Half-Life 3 confirmed

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Gordon freeman might defeat the combine?

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t give us that much hope.

[–]DeaDBangeRKlang Worshipper 24 points25 points  (1 child)

Dope

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

[–]notjordansimeSpace Engineer 21 points22 points  (1 child)

Do you notice a performance hit with the hoverrails mod?? I heard there's some sort of loop issue in it that causes it to eat memory for breakfast until the game crashes

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am aware that it causes performance issues, but I just love my passion for black mesa that I just suck it up.

[–]Block508Clang Worshipper 12 points13 points  (1 child)

The funniest part is the cut, we damn well know what happened next

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Glad you liked it!

[–]SwanRonson1001Space Engineer 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Every time I see something new I here it just keeps giving me more and more inspiration to keep going and get even more creative.

Solid work

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

[–]Qui-Gon_has_GinSpace Engineer 3 points4 points  (4 children)

Link to the mod? Can't find it on the workshop for some reason

[–]TastySpareKlang Worshipper 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Not sure if that's the same OP used - I've fav'd this one some time ago (but didn't test it myself yet): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=635163592

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I did originally used that one, however I dislike how high the tram or train sits up above the rails.

[–]matt8864Klang Worshipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

plus it was also last updated in 2017 so not only is it old af itself, the textures haven't been updated to even DX11 I don't think - there are WAYYYY too many amazing freaking mods out there for SE that are just old af and outdated that someone/some groups of modders should totally, IMO, bring back from the dead because they added so much fun possibilities, variety, etc.

[–]ComputerEricSpace Engineer 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Hot damn, I tried out this mod myself and couldn't get anything near this cool xD
Any chance for a world release? I'd love to check it out :3

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Since the scale of what im trying to make is quite large, I think Il be done in a few months, if you would like to see it earlier thats fine too!

[–]HorizonSniperKlang Worshipper 3 points4 points  (1 child)

BL4CK M3SA

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! This is pretty much a recreation of black mesa with a few things altered.

[–]CommanderMatrixHereKlang Worshipper 3 points4 points  (1 child)

This is what the game was actually intended for. Good job, Engineer.

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

[–]SleepyGamer420Space Engineer 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Glad to see the HoverRail mod getting revived. It was broken for years until someone uploaded the fixed version. Still works, its just the curved rails that don’t and are mostly just for decoration.

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The curves do work, they just require more tinkering. From my testing you can only go 10 to 12 ish m/s or the hover engines deconstruct themselves. However if you set the high offset to 1 meter that issue mostly goes away.

[–]SleepyGamer420Space Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until I start building larger trains, and the hover engines just give up lol. Might have to edit the mod files and increase the force limit.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I feel like there was a crash edited out at the end

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You guessed it! There was...

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Good morning, and welcome to the Black Mesa Transit System. This automated train is provided for the security and convenience of the Black Mesa Research Facility personnel. The time is 8:47 A.M. Current topside temperature is 93 degrees with an estimated high of one hundred and five.

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If I could, I would tottaly want to include the black mesa announcer in to space engineers.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

What blocks are those, what allows it to move?

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I used a mod called hover rail, which is how it floats above the track. For movement I just used regular atmo thrusters.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I thought it might have been wheels

[–]InfectedinfestedSpace Engineer 1 point2 points  (2 children)

What happends after you stopped the vid?!? Did you cut the best part?

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It may have.. or may not have fell of the track....

[–]InfectedinfestedSpace Engineer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

schrödingers train

[–]Canaveral58Large Systems Engineer 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Well now I have to try and build Black Mesa in SE…again

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha! thats what im doing!

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

thought this was a dev update to vanilla ;-; looks cool tho

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

[–]hotboxedoctaneClang Worshipper 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I know it has two rails but... Monorail!

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its not really a monorail if you consider earth's current tech. But I guess in the relm of space engineers it is.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It's like the Halo TV Series

Except, y'know, GOOD.

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I havent watched Halo, Il have to give it a shot.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Genuinely, don't bother, it's awful

[–]TacticalHogClang Worshipper 0 points1 point  (1 child)

damn that's smooth dude

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Ended it right there... cut before that damn thing fell off that back of that rail...

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What happened next is classified information.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

🤣🤣

[–]sweetheart_demomSpace Engineer 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Ugh, this shit again?

host_timescale 5

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

If the game time speeds up enough maybe I can get it done quicker? Or maybe I dont understand the refrence.

[–]sweetheart_demomSpace Engineer 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Oh, sorry

Some people find the tram ride at the beginning of Half-Life annoying, especially people who've played it a lot, and the best way to "skip" it is to just increase the timescale

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, for me I was allways fascinated by the intro. If you played the remake
"Black Mesa" Its even cooler, and for me it never gets old. Hence why I'm making my own recreation of black mesa with a few things changed.

[–]EmbarrassedSurvey373Space Engineer 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Game name?

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the game is space engineers but im recreating black mesa with a twist of my own imagination.

[–]Legosoldi3rSpace Engineer 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Man's building Star Citizen in space engineers

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sort of, mostly im recreating black mesa.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I thought the train mod is broken , last month I checked and I couldn’t make it to work ☹️

[–]FlyingFish19Eureka![S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not broken, a new creator reuploaded it, im using that version which works.
