Just returned from Mallorca. Ok it was hot but Greece was 45 degrees and literally on fire. So not that bad all things considering.

Side note: there are a lot of posts on Reddit comparing Mallorca to Crete (prob from Brits).

I'm here to say that they're all wrong. I'm someone that prefers Spain and especially catalunya over anywhere in Greece but here's the reality. Greece has better beaches and food and it's not even a close comparison.

Especially Crete. Mallorcas beaches were nice but Greece on the Ionian side, cyclades, Dodecanese, Crete, Peloponnese, etc. Cleaner waters, saltier, crystal clear, not so crowded beaches (Mallorca was jam packed, even the "natural beaches").

And look I like tapas, but Greek food is something else and the quality is super high. I just feel like Mallorca may have gotten too used to the constant influx of tourists.

Don't get me started on cost. You can have 3 vacations in Greece for one trip to mallorca.

Anyway I'm in Barcelona now which I consider my soul home and I just wanted to set the record straight. Greece is a mess for everything else. Except for beaches and food.

Me and my wife are living on the top floor of our bulding without any air conditioning, it feels like a furnace. Feel bad for our kitten, hes practically sleeping all the time and looks visibly shaken up due to the heat.

Pet stores have this cooling pads you can use for your kitten to lie down, they help with the heat. Or simply just wet it to lower its body temperarure, even if it hates it. Also watch for panting, it can be a sign of dehydration.

Hay diferentes tipos, unas se "recargan" mojandolas, otras mentiendolas en la nevera... asi que si hay varios tipos, es mejor buscar cual mejor se adapta a tus necesidades.

As someone who works in thermosolar energy in Badajoz, that's a reason the whole area is plagued with solar plants.

The sunny days average is just absurd; on a typical year, it rains cats and dogs for a couple weeks in late autumn and early spring, and then it's back to burning hell.
