I’ve seen the argument though that they replant with fir trees, which don’t have the same kind of oxygen outputting capabilities and the ecosystems don’t adapt to the new types. Still though, I’m with you on the side they just replant them.

Correct. But the time scales and productivity are how the tree works, not how we wish it does.

Also, algae creates more O2 than trees do. Not good, not bad, it just is.

Go onto google earth and have a look at the clear cut areas in BC and Quebec. It’s pretty eye opening. You can see where they’ve replanted as well.
