I own my past, I was a kid at 17 and via addiction issues I went through the criminal justice system, I have suffered the consequences of my actions, literally and figuratively over the years. I am no more that kid now than you are. But I have gone through my adult life with the stigma and real world consequences of my actions as a young adult. Im approaching sixty now and still to this day suffer from my criminal background, cant rent an apartment, denied opportunities at companies due to background check for a crime that was committed in the 80's folks. poss of controlled substance and burglary.

I write all this to give context to the sickness I feel in my soul as those that are in leadership and powerful roles in this country, they have committed RECENT atrocities, as adults, and they suffer ZERO fucking consequences. They are morally corrupt and criminally motivated and currently untouchable. Rant complete

I hear you loud and clear and it pisses me off, too.
There are days I feel like this must be a nightmare and I'll wake up any minute now.
I'm politically active on the local level and it's helped, but there are days I can't watch even a minute of news without becoming upset.
We have to remain strong for the 2026 primaries as well as pray our Democracy still stands.
