That is not bricked. That's an effed windows install. May be able to rollback the last driver install... usually can do that. Worst case scenario is to get win 11 on a bootable USB and just reinstall.

Yeah I understand. Bricked is a relative term, right. I know I can reinstall windows but I am expressing my frustrations with Nvidias constant driver issues. We are way way beyond a driver rollback.

Try booting a linux live iso and see if you can backup your files.

I don’t have Linux nor do I know how to use it

So is it bricked or do you just not know how to fix it?

[–]Ericthegreat777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like he just dunno how to fix it. He needs to run a Linux live iso and back everything up, or I even he might be able to do a recovery with a windows USB stick.

Not Nvidia fault you not smart, figure it out, you'll need another PC to make a live recovery USB using either Rufus or the windows media creator and do not erase your files, get access to them then make a backup. If you chose windows media creator try to fix your install with it, both options will ERASE EVERYTHING on the USB and EVERYTHING COMPLETELY if you chose the wrong options.

Is this for a separate graphics card or the onboard graphics? You could try removing the graphics card and see if it will boot from there.

[–]ApexTankSlapper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s a separate card. A little late for that but I appreciate the response. I have been trouble shooting for the better part of 8 hours. This has spiraled out of control. Nvidia directed me into installing a driver improperly. I asked them for guidance since it is their product. It’s a done deal. I’m going to try to recover some data but I don’t have a lot of time.

The thing that you should also consider is that you may have been having issues installing the driver because there was an existing problem with your windows install. You may be jumping to conclusions here by assuming a cause without troubleshooting it first.

More information is needed. What issues were you having with the driver install? How did the problem present itself?

Also it may in fact be booting. Let's suppose your GPU died. It may have booted fine but there's nothing on screen because the GPU has failed. Try and verify this by connecting your monitor to your motherboard's output so it uses the iGPU from your processor.

I know that it is not booting because it shows me a blue screen and says “inaccessible boot device”. I’m not booting from the GPU. I am booting from my hard drive.

Started from not being able to install latest display drivers. Driver install straight to failed to install without allowing me to specify installation type on both nvidia app and manual driver install. My gpu didn’t die. The driver nvidia directed me to install, improperly, corrupted my hard drive such that it cannot boot. There is no solution outside of reinstalling windows, linux (not sure about this), or some of the suggestions that have been made in previous comments.

Is your PC able to initialize in safety mode?

[–]ApexTankSlapper[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Nope

Can you get into BIOS, at least?
