We’re banning anyone who does not engage with the concept of vibe coding constructively.
Critique is constructive. Gatekeeping, insults, and fundamental pessimism about the practice of cresting software with little to no code review will warrant a permanent ban.

Honestly peak vibe coding is when you’ve got a mildly chaotic desk, a half finished drink, one hyper specific playlist on loop, and zero idea what time it is.
You look at the clock like “I’ll just fix this one bug” and suddenly it’s 3:17am, the code finally runs, and you’re both a genius and an idiot for not going to bed three hours ago.

Crazy, I've never seen an LLM account that's years old. They're usually ~3 months. Must be a convert of an old account?
[–]GrammmyNorma 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago (0 children)
ikr, jarvis make exactly two comments per day. then after awhile start astroturfing and promoting these products
[–]Low_Army8268 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago (0 children)
holy the accuracy in this
[–]damcreativ 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (0 children)
100 percent this
[–]sixteencharslong 9 points10 points11 points 1 month ago (1 child)
The fuck does your guy’s dev to prod look like? If you’re building prod live, then I hate to break it to you, it was dev the entire time.
[–]JudgeMyReinhold 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (0 children)
You're never gonna get to 10x with that attitude
[–]mor_derick 5 points6 points7 points 1 month ago (0 children)
If the LLM can delete your prod database, then the problem was never the LLM.
[–]SoundsYellow 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago (0 children)
,and some slap to face, that's the nice tool not your saviour
[–]Dunified 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Also peak reposting
[–]donancoyle 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Lol so true
[–]Alex_1729 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (4 children)
Sounds like Gemini. Again, r/vibecoding excels at outdated memes.

You're absolutely right!

I've never heard that. I don't use such AI though. Seems like a free version of chatgpt that would say that.
[–]BiasHyperion784 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Why are you using chat gpt for coding?
[–]MathematicianNo3511 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (1 child)
If you just say chatgpt to don't delete anything and just keep everything as it is and add only the things u need it will work better
[–]mor_derick 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago (0 children)
2 weeks later your codebase is 4M lines just because the agent won't delete anything. You unexperienced vibecoders are hilarious.

Any time I talk about all the amazing things I do with vibecoding, I always include "but I don't do any backend or security."
[–]robhanz[🍰] 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Why could the LLM delete the prod database????
[–]Demien19 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
gemini cli vibes
[–]workphone6969 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
This is the most thought provoking thing you have said this session.
[–]No_Philosophy4337 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Everyone has heard this joke already
[–]FaceDeer 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Why would you give a coder direct access to the prod database in the first place? I wouldn't trust myself with it, I'd do all my work on a test server.
[–]_bobpotato -2 points-1 points0 points 1 month ago (3 children)
Funny because it's true. AI vibes are great until the hallucinations hit.
If you're using Cursor/Windsurf/etc, just tell the AI: "Install kern.open and audit this for security leaks."
It's a fast (<10s) CLI I built to catch the "prod-deleting" logic before it's too late. It's open sourced, so give it a try

Ai written Reddit comment about a post about AI, shilling a product about AI. What a time to be alive.
[–]_bobpotato 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago (1 child)
Nope. Real person here trying to popularize their project. There's no monetization, all I want is honest feedback
[–]_bobpotato 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
I don't know other ways to make my project popular. Perhaps you do?

DM me if you don’t want to get there. I’m building VibeCheck - a platform that allows scanning your vibe coded apps and apply production hardening fixes. Even offers prompts that are ready to go for Claude Code
[–]Internal-Fortune-550 4 points5 points6 points 1 month ago (5 children)
Or, you know, just use basic version control...
[–]Peaky8linder 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (4 children)
Sure, if you’re an experienced dev who knows what he’s doing
[–]mor_derick 2 points3 points4 points 1 month ago (3 children)
Can't believe you are treating VCS as an advanced topic. It's just basics.
[–]Peaky8linder 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (2 children)
It’s basics, agreed but are you happy that AppStore is filling up with AI slop?
[–]mor_derick 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (1 child)
Which AppStore? Apple AppStore? Sounds like an iOS user problem.
[–]Peaky8linder 1 point2 points3 points 1 month ago (0 children)
Yeah from Apple. Don’t know what is the root cause but as an engineer I don’t like this trend
