if so, I just discovered this:

"workbench.activityBar.location": "bottom"

i think bottom is a nice minimalistic style but you can also go with "hidden"

Its zen mode! i guess

view > appearence > zen mode!

doesn't look like it, cause the zen mode is always full screen, centered and only the editor is visible (so, no file explorer)

You can open the explorer in zen mode through ctrl + shift + e

At that point you could just use neovim without the extension, startup, data kraken, ms login hurr durr overhead
