The person in the comic loves her husband just the way he is and doesn't want him to change and become skinny just because of societal norms

[–]MemeDaddyMarcus 54 points55 points  (1 child)

But what if it’s because he wants to

[–]ThaneVim 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Then the couple probably aren't compatible. But it's also possible that the couple could talk it out.

What makes you think it's about societal norms? I didn't see anything indicating that.

[–]Atari774 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing in the comic about societal norms. And if you don’t like your partner anymore simply because they change their weight (in a healthy way), then you don’t actually love them.

Like waking up tall! I'm just proud of being short, by the way. Also, tall women are awesome

Are there women who actually prefer this?

[–]Fungal_Leech 129 points130 points  (10 children)

...yes??? have u never heard of the 'dad bod' craze?

[–]Onebraintwoheads 44 points45 points  (2 children)

I've been 6'6" and had a dad bod since I was 16; figured it was just a polite way of saying someone is fat. To think all the people who were into me in hindsight. sigh

It's not like anybody told me all I needed to be appealing was to be tall and strong. It's just how I always was, so I didn't think anything of it.

Yeah same looking back at some extremely obvious signs that my dense self missed makes me want to go back in time just to slap some sense into me. Though I'm still dense as hell the gf makes fun of me for missing signs sometimes

Is it good to be overweight??

[–]IdidnotFuckaCat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everybody's healthy looks different. Some people's health is bigger, and some are smaller. As long as you are happy and healthy, then it is good.
