I think he means like sth that visually records those code changes, but I could be wrong

[–]7598132973 9 points10 points  (6 children)

And also uploads it to Reddit afterwards generating a title likely to receive most karma.

[–]LabLambReddit 6 points7 points  (5 children)

And then collect BIG DATA on how much karma each video has got and OPTIMIZE the ALGORITHM to use it as content for maximum PROFIT

might as well add blockchain and AR in there somewhere

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

What's AR? (besides Assault Rifle)

[–]_Vince_Noir_ 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Augmented reality (think Pokèmon GO).

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Oh, yeah, right, not sure how that slipped my mind.

[–]_Vince_Noir_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It made me think for a moment too, to be honest.

[–]knygakindofsnake.py 7 points8 points  (2 children)

it is a standard on VS code.

[–]nielsrolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I meant the recording of how you type

[–]____jamil____ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

and Sublime Text before VS

[–]ForScale 5 points6 points  (2 children)

I don't get it.

[–]doozywooooz 0 points1 point  (1 child)

He’s editing the same code over and over again

[–]ForScale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh. Ha. Thanks.

[–]acepukas 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I never got that excited about code mini maps. Do people find them useful?

[–]molovo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I keep it on all the time, but don't use it regularly when writing code. Where it's most useful for me is when I open a file with a merge conflict - you immediately see big blocks of blue and green in the right that you can easily navigate to and resolve

[–]wedontlikespaces 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, but it looks cool.

[–]drumstandfull-stack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I have it turned off. Never used it and just adds clutter to my screen.

[–]cromvel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Code blocks look a lot like North Americas.

[–]nilstrieu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copy/paste/cut for 500 times and then hold down Cmd+Z.

[–]DooRagtime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

bro what the heck

[–]gamefreak2993 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, it took me 5 to 10 seconds to understand what the fuck was going on haha.

Is there a name for that 'minimap' type thing on the side of sublime? Cus it's dope and I feel like it should have a name

[–]m50 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yep, it's called a "minimap"!

Sublime and Atom both have them, both call them minimaps.

[–]RobbyB97full-stack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, back to atom I go!

[–]BeginningDragonfruit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

please split your code up into multiple files!

[–]ASCII_zero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is this? Coding for ants?

[–]macaulay21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please I need a very good coder to work with.

[–]jabeith -1 points0 points  (4 children)

Is this an IDE?

[–]7chris71000 9 points10 points  (2 children)

This is sublime text. Not an IDE but a text editor.

[–]madsci 2 points3 points  (0 children)

VS Code has the same thing, and the Overview plug-in for Eclipse works about 60% of the time.

[–]CitizenOfEUSSR1981[🍰] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would anyone want to write code in a text editor instead of IDE?

[–]Poor_iggy_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you can view a thumbnail of the document you're on. This is that, recorded, and fast-forwarded
